Is it worth it?

I've played Nike Slingshots (2010) for about a season and half now.  I like the irons and don't really have a problem with them, but I cant stop considering the Taylormade Burner 2.0 irons.  I really like the way they look/sound and I'm considering buying them next year.  I haven't hit them yet, only seen them in the store.

Should I be concerned with replacing my irons already or should I stick with them for longer than 1.5 seasons?

Have any of you played the Burner 2.0's?  Would they be a decent upgrade?

I would say as long as your a 23 handicap and those clubs are relatively the same type (game improvement) I wouldnt change yet but if you had enough money why wouldnt you buy a new set everytime you hit the golf course. Alot of golf is about confidence when addressing the ball. It is whether its worth it to you. I change clubs to a semi "players" irons just because I couldnt stand the huge offset.

I think the clubs will be very similar so its probably not worth changing but thats up to your bank account. I would definitely say check em out first and swing em.

When you get to the point the Slingshots are holding back improvement of your game, that's the time to switch.

And, clubs that "look good" are not necessarily the way to go. Last time I radically changed my irons, Ping i10 was the frontrunner. Then, when I hit them and competing models, i10 fell by the wayside.

When you eventually make the big switch, work with a fitter. Get some launch monitor data and see which combo of head and shaft works best for you.

Is it ever really worth it to replace a working car for a new car?

New clubs will not change your game unless they motivate you to practice or make you think you will hit the ball better...

Worth it? No. Should you do it? You won't find me saying not to buy new clubs.

If you hit your current irons well, I don't see much of an advantage. Your clubs aren't that old. I replaced my clubs recently, but they were pretty old, and weren't fitted to me. Maybe go and get fitted, see if the ones you have now are right for you. If they have the wrong flex, or length, maybe then the new clubs would be more worth it.
