I am having a big issue with this lately. I just can't seem to stop by upper body from falling away from the target in the backswing. Its a miracle that i haven't hit any chunk shots, but i did hit two thin shots. Mostly it happens with the longer clubs. I can tell because my back got sore from it and that only happens when my hips race forward and my upper body falls away from the ball. Any tips on how to stop this, no matter how much i concentrated on keeping my head still it happens.

I do this too.  Right now I'm trying to feel like my head is over my left leg throughout the swing.  When I look at tape it's way back, but slowly moving forward.  I feel like I'm pivoting around my left leg now.  Before it was a right leg pivot.

I think it was my set up, i think i am aiming to far right and having the ball way back in my stance. This kinda made sense on the 2nd shot from monday when i really hit the ball well but it came off really really low. Then i just reverse pivoted the rest of the day. I had some issue today, but i moved the ball forward and started to aim a bit more left, and it really helped. I think i was subconciously using a reverse pivot to compensate for poor ball position.

I try and feel a push into the inside of my trail foot when I turn. Never the middle of the foot and never the outside. Sometimes I even bend that knee a little before starting backswing to help keep the weight centered. I think Golf Digest has Tom Watson giving that tip this month.

Sometimes I get into reverse pivoting . .it's usually when I am thinking about too many things at takeaway.  I try to get back to simple stuff - like what would it feel like if I were to whip this club down the range.  Then I try to incorporate the "essence" of that instinctive movement in my swing - ie - let that be my swing thought.

I do the same thing. Had a problem at one point with my weight shifting to the right side too much and not being able to get it back, causing a slice
