I had an opportunity to demo both clubs at the range. I can't put a tangible reason why I preferred the Vokey. I hit it a little better, and prefer the look better.

I used to play Cleveland wedges before they switched to the "Carbon Metal Matrix" in everything. I just never liked the look and feel as much after they discontinued the original 588 series.

I now carry three Vokey's. Love the look, love the feel, they're perfect.

I love Cleveland wedges. I think they are the best on the market, I really do. I've tried everything but love the feel of Cleveland. I just think people don't give them enough of a chance over Titleist just because Titleist is "Titleist."

If you dont want to spend a ton of moeny and you want a really awesome wedge, get the Cleveland Reg. 588 gunmetal - my dad just got one for 70 bucks and his short game has never been this good.

I actually sort of agree with this. But didn't Cleveland get away from the CMM material with their CG12 wedge and new line of irons?

I didn't spend enough time with the CG12 wedge to do a full review. I liked the look of the Vokey better. I hit it a little better. I know I already made a comment, but that is what I got for you. Makes me wish I would have taken more notes.

I will cast a vote for the CG12. I have the 56/14 model. I really like this wedge alot. It really depends on how much spin you want. I am not one of those players that enjoys spinning it back a long ways. I feel I have more control with the bounce and check shot. I love this thing out of the sand. I also use it around the green the vast majority of the time. I really think it is a great product.

Here's a

review . I always played Cleveland wedges up to the CG10. But I've gone all Vokey since (aside from a brief experiment with Mizunos).

Interesting is that some think the CG10 is the best wedge ever and others stopped using Cleveland when that one came out. Personally I tried the CG10 but wasn't a huge fan of that CMM material so went back to the 588. Quite interesting that they went away from it with the CG12.

I have the CG12 60/14. Vokey does not include a high-bounce 60, I own a Vokey 60/4 and can not hit it without openning the face. I use the CG12 for bounce-and-check and sand traps. I really like the D6 swing weight, it can plow through thick green-side rough.

Limited bounce options steered me to the Cleveland.

I've never tried a CG12, but I play the CG 11, and it's going to take some heavy proof that something will work better for me to get that SW out of my bag. It's far and away the best wedge I've ever owned... maybe just because it suits me. Chipping, pitching, bunker shots.... all are a snap with this club.

I even look forward to missing greens so I can use it... I know, I'm a bit demented, but what can I say....

      Thanks but honestly… I don't know any other way. I don't mind being wrong so long as I know where to go from there. I don't like being wrong — I'd love to get things right (which is different than "being right"). I recommend grabbing a furniture slider or a paper plate or something, and doing something like this: First, make a swing where you let your trail foot swing out as you turn, then twist that foot back in. From DL and FO, it'll look like this: Then, during a regular backswing, try to twist your foot in slightly (demonstrated in the left image): You'll notice a crease along the trail side of your hip, your pelvis will "fold" into that thigh (internal rotation of the hip joint), and your "bits" will be squished a little between your pelvis and your thigh. Ben Hogan said once: "At the top of the back swing the groin muscle on the inside of your rt [sic] leg near your right nut will tighten," Hogan wrote. "This subtle feeling of tightness there tells you that you have made the correct move back from the ball." I don't know about that, but you will probably feel something down around that area.

      I need to drop a couple of stone. 🙂 😛    Yep. Yeah, but in the end, it feels more athletic, like you're actually using your legs, yeah? As you know… we use the best available info we have. Like others, I was fooled a little by 2D images for awhile (moving or still). Unlike others, I've learned and grown and moved on since then, while they're still looking at their images (often from lousy camera angles).
