So I figured this would be a good place to post this.

Why aren't there any regional sections? A section for each state to find playing partners, etc.

We've answered this several times before.

Because invariably the regions will be too large or too small. I live closer to Western New York and Northeastern Ohio than I do to 90% of PA, but I'm in PA.

Why not something like grouping them into 10 or so divisions? Threads can be made in the sections looking for more local golfers.

e.g. Midwest

"Southeast Michigan Golfers"

Because then we'll have 200 sections. California might have 20 sections itself, Rhode Island probably would only have one, but the average would probably be four. Then you have Canada, Australia, etc.

To eliminate the "border problem" (people who live close to a border in one or two sections) you have to make the regions so small you'll have too many regions.
