is it really intimidating and intense? is it competitive at all?

Golf competition is what you make of it. Total shot in the dark here on my part, but if your handicap listing is accurate, go out and

have fun and just ignore the other competitors in stroke play and have a great time. I suspect you're better than some of your team-mates, so just playing your usual game and having fun will help your team immensely.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

I started high school just last year and went out for the team in the begining of the spring. I made the team as only 1 of 2 freshmen that made it. Our team had a 13 and 2 season and we won the conference championship. I had a scoring average of about 40 (for 9 holes) and won medalist honors once. Then at the end of the year i was ranked 3rd best on my team and won the "most outstanding golfer award" for our team and was also awarded all conference honorable mention. I think i had a pretty good year. Go ST RAVENS!

I was my HS's team's captain..... small public school just west of Boston... GREAT times. lots of team spirit, and it was 9 hole match play, which was a blast and helped get me into the mentality to win a lot of summer stroke play events.

does your school play in the fall or spring? I go to school just south of Boston, and we were in the only league left in the spring (but we're moving to the fall this coming year)
