Here is the next step in the line of apparel. Nexbelt has introduced a golf belt that has no holes.  Why didn't I think of this?  I have used weight lifting belts for years that use a ratcheting system.  And it's even complete with a ball marker inside the buckle.

Quote:

The evolution of the golf belt has passed through many stages, including no belt at all (Sansabelt slacks, all the rage in the '70s and endorsed by Tom Shaw) and white belts tht became fashionable a few years ago.

Now comes Nexbelt and its Go-In! Golf series, two sizes fit (virtually) all and no holes, and worn on the PGA Tour by Kevin Na.

It features a ratcheting system instead of the traditional pin and hole and the belt can be adjusted in quarter-inch increments rather than one inch found in traditional belts. They come in two sizes -- one for those with waist sizes ranging from 28 to 40 inches and another for waist sizes ranging from 38 to 50 inches. The buckle contains a hidden ball marker.

The Go-In! Golf series features a variety of colors (inlcuding white) and retails for $54.99 .

I personally think it looks pretty good.  So who will be buying one of these?

It does look interesting. Sometimes one hole is too loose while another hole is just a little too tight, so the quarter-inch increments are most interesting.

Yes, this was always a nice feature in the weight lifting belts as well.  Sometimes you need that spot in between the factory holes and there is nothing you can do.  The ratcheting belts help that issue.

Looks nice,  and immediately caught my interest.....   Price is too steep for me though.

This,  for $10 is looking nice to me right now though,  from Ping,  via  "Budget Golf"

The black one you posted though looks like a nice belt.....   again,  just too pricey out the gate for me.

But does that belt have a hidden ball marker in the buckle

Just kidding, yeah the price is a bit steep for a belt.  Maybe it's a bit higher because you get the feeling of being Batman with a utility belt while playing golf

The price is pretty much inline with everything else out there.

You are right. It's not bad off. I guess I was comparing it to the belt that he had referenced.  I like the belt myself and would buy it.  I can see the price labeled as high, but those that would label it as high would label those at TGW high as well.

The belt looks nice to me, but I don't know why I would need a ball marker in the buckle. I get my mall markers for $0.05 each from the US Mint.

That does look pretty nice.   Does it look like the "Teeth"  will wear down over time though,  and then not secure as well at those points?

Looks good, but not exactly a new thing. I've got a lot of belts without holes. Definitely a nice feature for a perfect fit.

I don't like belt buckles, so I don't see myself buying one.

No. They're pretty solid. I don't see them wearing down quickly - they'll certainly last longer than holes punched in leather for the traditional buckle.

Yeah, a canvas belt. Woo. :P Or maybe you can get those with the marijuana leaf on the buckle? :P

factory holes not just right?  Take a nail, a leather punch, an awl, a razor blade, or any other object that will cut through the material and make a new hole.  problem solved!

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
