Recently there was a TMZ report that David Duval's $12.35 million home in a Denver, Colo., suburb was in foreclosure but it seems that negotiations with his lender that has been resolved.

From Gary Smits

Quote:

Duval told the Times-Union Tuesday that he and his family will be moving out of their house in Cherry Hills Village and it will be sold. He said he has been working with his lender and all parties are satisfied with the agreement.

"Like a lot of people in the past few years, I made a real estate investment that didn't go well," Duval said. "There is no foreclosure. That is 100 percent wrong but the web site that started that is a gossip site, no more. They never made any attempt to contact me."

Duval said he has been in constant communication with his bank to work out a resolution that will not involve foreclosure. He did not reveal specific details but he said "everyone's happy."

Duval has made $18,839,933 in on-course money during his career. However, $15,312,553 of that was earned from 1995-2002, when he won 13 times, including the 1999 Players Championship and the 2001 British Open. Since the 2002 season, Duval has earned only $3,527,380 and has been in a  prolonged slump brought about in large part by a series of injuries.

From Doug Ferguson article

Quote:

More of it likely is due to the stress of financial problems at home.

“It’s been a very big distraction,” Duval said. “I have the weight of this on me.”

His wife, Susie, likes to be on the road with him and their children — Brayden and Sienna, along with three children from her previous marriage. She has been dealing with the bank and the home, and hasn’t gone to a tournament with Duval since New Orleans the last week in April. That was the last time Duval made the cut.

“This kind of thing can break us or hold us together, and we’re tighter than ever,” Duval said. “We’re more in love than ever. It’s a hugely stressful time, especially when information is out there that’s inaccurate. She’s been an angel. I think she’s the greatest thing ever. She’s my hero. I tell her that every day.”

You would think it would be better for the socialization and schooling of the children to be at home, instead of traveling. I would think that traveling with kids would be a distraction to your business.

It's crazy, the guy made $18M not including endorsements, which more than most people will see in a lifetime and he's negotiating with his bank to avoid foreclosure.  When guys make that much they must lose their ability to do basic math and manage money?

Imagine being told every day by someone that you're "their hero". Ergh.

Or telling a reporter that that's what you tell someone every day.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

That is one whipped dude...

    • Day 314 - Putting some things together. Better grip/setup, fuller backswing, better finishing position. Filmed some swings, happy with the progress.
    • Day 130: did a stack session.
    • Day 206 (24 Nov 24)  - An easy session with the 54deg wedge and hard foam balls / one simple goal - distance control thru backswing length while not decelerating.  Had a playing partner comment they noticed me decelerating on a couple short wedge shots in last round.  Hit from distances from close to 40yds down to 20.
    • Musgrove Mill hole #15 was converted to a par 3 after Hurricane Helene. Today, I had 145 from the tee which is a perfect 9-iron for me. I aimed just right of the hole and pulled it a few feet. Clanked off the stick down into the hole and ricocheted out of the hole 13’ away. Drained the putt for a birdie after repairing the hole which was damaged . Not sure if it would have counted as a HIO, but I was pretty excited!
    • Day 55 - 2024-11-24 Did five levels of Operation 36 on GSPro (different courses). 🙂 Was -4 from 200 yards (32) intentionally laying up on each hole (i.e. not hitting a 5I or something). Shot… 22, 24, 26 from 25, 50, and 100 yards. I forget my 150-yard score, but obviously it was < 36. Putting was odd… (and I did it with the wedge or a 7I or whatever was in my hand).
