are there any effects on your posture/swing when having to wear prescription glasses? im wondering if it causes you to tilt your head down more than you should creating a somewhat haunched over spine angle, or say peeping out the bottom of the frames.  i have not realy not paid particular attention but i dont see too many pros wearing glasses, aside from tom kite and a few on the lpga.  todays prescription glasses are smaller than ever, not like the ole days, binoc's  .  im just wondering if it could help my game by getting contacts? with wearing glasses it seems it makes my kinda tuck my chin more closer to myself which can then feel like im haunched over and not standing tall.  what do some of you think ? thanks

I wear progressive bifocals and if I wear them for golf I find the ball appears to move around and it's in & out of focus at address due to the prescription of the glass. Yes, my head moves around a lot with the bifocals.

I now have 2 pairs of Oakley's (one golf specific) that have my prescription for distance only and its much better. Jotting down info on the score card is a nuisance sometimes but, I can deal with that.

I went to contacts a looooong time ago.....and would recommend anyone playing any type of sport at least consider trying them. No slipping, fogging, smudges or discomfort. Wear whatever sunglasses you like too....

I have progressive bifocals and don't have any problem playing with them on.  I use clip-on sunglasses with them when I need to.

If you have bifocals, it could be a problem.

I have blended lenses, and sometimes I feel I have inconsistent head position.

The purists recommend getting distance perscription in amber-colored sunglasses. Amber is good for tracking ball in flight, but some say amber makes reading grain of green more difficult.

(For people with and without corrected vision, sunglasses help prevent cataracts).

I have blended bifocals and if I forget to change to my transition distance only glasses, I will shank it most of the time. Playing once a couple of years ago, I had a wedge shot of 120 yards and proceeded to shank 5 consecutive shots (almost identical) into the pond on the right side of the fairway. When I finally realized that I had my "normal" glasses on, I switched and hit the next shot on the green and made the putt for a tidy 13. Double check now on the first tee!
