Hello All Newbie from Southern California

Hello All,

Just wanted to introduce myself, I just picked up golf after I was invited to a charity tournament for two local Pharmacy schools and I got hooked!  This was in June of this year and I loved it.

Since then I’ve been reading and watching all things golf.   I live very close to a couple of courses in Southern California (Los Robles Greens and Westlake golf Course).  After the tournament I started looking for a set of golf clubs and I picked up a set of Big Bertha 2004 and a Big Bertha 3 wood and an old putter I found at yard sale.  So that’s pretty much my equipment.

Since the tournament I have done a couple of back nine outings and a couple of full 18.  My first 18 I shot 126, people tell me I have a solid swing to work with, but I really struggle with short game and putting.  This past weekend I went out again and I shot 97 I was hitting the ball really well and I could see an improvement on my short game touch and putting.  I had a lot of fun.

I’ve been going to the range and watching a lot educational videos.  Well, so far I am loving it and hope to keep improving…one more thing my wife is not thrill about me picking up another hobby but I think this is something we can do together, out of all the sports I like, she likes golf, at least when we have played miniature golf lol.

But on a serious note, I feel this is a game we can both enjoy together.  Well, see you around!!
