I dunno, but I have a farmer's tan, so I'd be willing to consider these. I have to wonder how they feel wearing them, too.

I remember the swimwear version of this was advertised in Sky Mall 5-6 years ago. I would hope if they are still in business it would actually work.

Yeah, I'm interested in these as well just because I'm tired of dark arms and neck and white chest as well. I'll spring for one and let you guys know what I think. At ~60 bucks a pop I think they are a little expensive, so I'll just get one. Hopefully the quality is good enough to last a while.

Now you will be able to apply Sun Screen all of your body instead if just your arms and neck.

Exactly. I'll take having a funny looking tan (an unavoidable light one at that) over increasing my risk for skin cancer any day of the week.

I couldn't agree with you both more re: sun exposure in general. I am pretty religious about sunscreen application. I use products with zinc oxide and apply them quite liberally. Face, neck, arms and ears. (Don't forget the ears!) I also wear a hat and sunglasses...always. I plan to play for a long time so I do this even if it is overcast out.

I am amazed at how many golfers do not take these basic steps to protect their health and appearance, but to each his own.

Two points regarding the shirt. First, spray on sunscreen does exist and application is fairly easy. Second, there is no need to wear the shirt every round, therefore you would only be inconvenienced on limited occasions.

But the whole point is to get a tan in the easiest manner possible, so I wouldn't wear sunscreen on chest/back if I was wearing the shirt, anyway.

Ok, just to follow up on this thread. I finally broke down and bought one of these shirts. $51.90, including basic shipping. You can find them at this website: http://www.cooltan.com/shirtafct.htm

Basically, the shirt is awesome. The quality is good, and I expect the shirt to last a while. The best part of wearing it on the course is that the material is extremely light. So I stay very cool, and the material also works well at wicking away moisture. IMHO, better than clima-cool and similar product lines.

After a round, I just wash it in the sink and let it air dry. Dries very quickly.

The insert that came with the shirt said it functions like a 30spf sunscreen, so you don't just get toasted out there.

And no, I have no interest in the company. But I'll definitely buy another one.

I dunno, anything thin enough to tan through sounds like it will get eaten in the wash. I prefer regular cotton shirts.

    • Having a rough week. Went to the Dr. because I was really weak and could hardly swing my driver.  I take Propranolol 20 mg tablets twice a day. Seems like the Propranolol was driving my pulse down (low 50's).  So we cut the dosage in half and I started taking my blood pressure. It was a little high but pulse came up.   Then yesterday I raised it to 15 mg tab by taking it 3 times a day. Blood pressure 127 / 77 Pulse 75.  Heading out tomorrow morning for 18 holes.    I have my driver set at 10.5* but seem to have my swing speed to low and I can't get the lift on the ball I need.  I have not played this week in hopes I will have the strength to raise my swing speed. I may have to raise my loft to 12* . (I will take my driver wrench) tomorrow. (This Parkinson's is a pain in the butt.)  Will give you a report when I get back.    Retired Old Man, Terry
    • You still got to lift your arms. You basically just roll your wrist over in the 1st half of the backswing.
    • Day 288 6-17 Low point control without ball. hit quite a few swing where i was wanting the club to hit the ground.  Added a ball with towel behind it, just to see where im at. Wasn't horrible but need some more work. Pretty much full speed swings.
    • Current state of the program.  I can only do 25-50% swing speed, probably under 50% since I was hitting the ball out to the 150 yard marker (yay!),  to get the arms down and somewhat turn the body through impact. I mean somewhat. Arms down + body turn don't like to mesh at all. Anything faster and the body does stupid uncoordinated stuff. Mostly, I am stuck in the old pattern of staling the turn and flipping at the ball.  So, until I see progress. I am not posting anything here.
    • Thanks for the video! Do you think a ball between the arms type of training aid would get me in a better position? I also have a Tour Striker Swing Trainer (PlaneMate-like contraption) if that could be helpful.
