I don't have the fancy software that some of these guys do, but it look like you still have wrist hinge to me. Maybe some of it is forearm rotation buy there looks to be wrist hinge as well. Best photo I could get from the video. As I see it, by bending your leading arm you have still only added a lever.

I think Logman has conceded that he does use his left (rear) wrist in pretty much the same way as a "conventional" swing. But I'd agree that he's mostly replace his right (leading) wrist bend with elbow bend. Thus decreasing the arc of his swing, but increasing the length of one of his levers.

As no one on the long drive tour uses a significantly bent leading elbow I doubt it's the most effective way to generate power, and no one who plays golf to a really high level uses it either I'd doubt it's the most repeatable way to swing.

But Logman has said he's been making some good scores recently. Makes you wonder what he could do with a really repeatable, efficient swing doesn't it?

Hey logman very nice swing looks like you generate a lot of power and club speed.

I was actually tinkering with the LPG swing on the range a few days ago.  Pretty impressive contact considering I have no clue what I was doing (I was still using my super-strong HSS grip, just separating the hands on the club a little bit).  Was my first time trying a split grip, really liked the feeling of the power coming from the right arm through the ball.  Will have to try it with the correct neutral grip at some point (although I've gotten used to the Heard super-strong grip at this point).

Have you ever tried or investigated the Kuykendall e2e swing?  It looks pretty freaky from what little I could find online - more like a hockey slapshot than a golf swing.  But Jack swears you can get superior distance with it (even over LPG).  Basically it is a trail elbow back and hammer motion.  I do agree with JK's over-riding principle that power comes from the arms in the swing, and not the hips or lower body.  I have not tried his newest creation myself though!

Hi mate, good to see you're still around. Just on the HSS swing. I always thought how well the grip and no forearm rotation would go really well with LPG's bent front arm. I've never messed with mixing the 2 styles but the 2 seem to be very complimentary. I mean if you could imobilize the front wrist then you get rid of that hook that you can get with HSS. Plus you get the added benefit of the club face being "square" for a longer period in the HSS swing at the same time getting the power that lpg offers.

I've never tried Kuykendalls E2E, For some reason I can't even visualize how it would go. I'm just a bit flummoxed by it.

Also the Principle of the power in the arms ,hands shoulders. Yeah I reckon he's spot on. When I started LPG I reckon my 150 meter club went from a 7 iron to a 3 wood..... haha it was pathetic , I just couldn't understand how to make power. And even weirder is I still just lose it and my body wants to swap back to wrist bending and straight arming. Anyway the power has returned and my 150 meter club is now my eight iron.

Anyway, good to have another voice on the forum

Thanks... yes the split HSS-style grip actually felt good with the LPG-style bent arm.  Might try it out on the course and see how my results compare to my standard HSS grip and swing.

I know what you mean about losing it - I still sometimes fall back into the desire to rotate my forearms, which with the HSS grip leads to some pretty spectacular hooks.  This happens even when I've been hitting great, sneaks up on me out of nowhere.  Then I'll get it back and be flushing it again.  Hopefully with enough reps I'll get it!

How on earth did you become a 8 handicapper? I mean which club gave it to you?! If you're 8 I should be on the european tour boy.

Logman is in Australia so his handicap is from tournament rounds only, all cards signed by a fellow competitor.

No Mordan,  I don't play tournaments and I don't carry a card. I use golfshot....to keep score and stats.  I keep a score to par.....usually Plus( ), but sometimes under. Just as a guide, My aim is to beat 80 every time I play, but I prefer to play birdie golf rather than "safe golf".......life's too short!

Since I've been using this new swing my numbers went to the crappers, but over the last few months I've been getting back to where I think I should be.

My most enjoyable rounds are the ones where I just hit the ball well. Even if I score 85 I'd prefer those rounds where I hit the ball really solid but putted like a twat.....to those rounds where I hit the ball like a turd and putted well and walked off with a 79. I hate rounds where I hit it badly and chip and putt well.  Hitting the ball is what is like.

Anyway I'm playing tmoz so I'll let you know how it went.
