I have had a few with my best firend back in high school/college days. He was always the driver. We had the 360's, the sand traps, the pond and the mud stories covered.

The best recent one was at a scramble held by my company. It is more like a drinking party the just happend to be on a golf coure with half the team serious and half there for the beer.

We had finished and I was walking back up 18 helping the groups comming in find there drives to speed thing up. Here comes a cart blasting down the fairway and I step out to point to were their ball is and the driver ( my business partner and VP ) does not see me till the last second and does a power side. Well out comes his passenger ( another business partner ) sliding on the wet grass right up to my feet with her skirt pulled up from the slide. I personally could not stop laughing once she I saw she was ok. BTW, she was going "commando" that day.

Last summer, at Sugar Bay in Warsaw, Kentucky.

10th hole, par 4, about 350 yards. Left side is out of bounds in some really deep weeds and bushes, and right side is down an 80 foot hill (and like 70 degree down-angle) to the 12th fairway.

My buddy slices one off to that side, and he was drunk on cheap vodka that day. So, he went sailing down the hill... and the rest was history, so to speak. I watched in frustration from the top of the hill as all the gas leaked out of the cart, knowing that the club house was gonna find out about this one for sure.

Then, at Meadowood Golf Course, in Burlington, I wasn't paying attention...and plowed straight into this massive pot-hole. It was about a foot deep.

When I was about 12, I was bringing the cart to my partner so he could get his clubs, the grass was wet and i slid into him from behind and plowed him over. He was sore for the rest of the day but he turned out fine.

Last year my friend and I were playing and another case with wet grass, we did a few 360's and a few power slides.

Not sure if this classifies as a "golf cart" story or not, but I think it does and if you picture it...it's damn funny:

YEARS ago (has to be more than 15) I'm playing in a 4 mix scramble. This was long before I was married, so I invited a female friend to play. Decent golfer and honestly nobody in our group cared if we won or not.

She's riding in the cart with me. We all hit our tee shots and hers goes into a fairway bunker. I'm driving her to go get her ball and she goes to get out just before I stop. Well, there was this little lip on the golf cart..and she stumbled on it (don't ask how-I don't know). There she goes. Face first in the sand trap. And I mean circa 1970's Pete Rose headfirst into 3rd base type into the sand trap.

Of course after nearly wetting myself from laughing so hard, my first comment was "rake the damn trap and get back in!".

I'll never forget that....luckily she was laughing as hard as I was.

Within the past month, I've moved from Colorado to Kentucky.

Playing my first muni here a few weeks ago I was paired with a local who knew the course pretty well. On one hole on the back nine, the cart path made a steep, twisting descent from the tee box to the fairway. My partner assured me that the nearby warning signs were to be taken seriously.

I drove extra cautiously and we took the plunge without incident.

Standing on the next tee box, however, we suddenly heard, far off in the distance and in the general direction from where we had come, the screeching of brakes followed by the sound of an obviously severe impact and the crunching of metal.

It was very similar to those hokey sound effects on TV. We all just kind of looked at each other and shrugged our shoulders. It was a pretty good object lesson.

When I was about 8 years old I was golfing with my Dad and Grandfather, who both thought it was fun to let me drive the cart. I was driving up to my Grandfathers ball and he stood up and was just going to step off the side of the cart while I was driving. I looked over and saw him doing so, and immediately stomped on the brakes sending him flying out of the cart. He slid a good 10 yards down the fairway on his belly and had grass stain all the way up his white golf shirt the rest of the day. That's still one of my favorite memories of him!!

At the course where I worked we had a guy get his leg broken severely so his toes were pointing 90* to the right. We have several bridges at our course and his buddy drove too fast and too close the side. His foot was hanging out the side and he caught it on the side of the bridge. It basically just turned his foot around backwards. Although by the time they got to the clubhouse it was, as I said, just sticking out to the side. Totally nasty, I always make sure to keep my legs inside the cart at all times now.
