How many do you have room for?  What loft is your PW and how far do you hit it?

I have a pitching iron came, came with my set I hit that about 110 I believe it is a 44, with all those 4 wedges in my bag I will have 14

I'd dump the Taylormade. You can always choke up on the 51* and you said you get great spin with it, nice weapon to have.

Yours in earnest, Jason.

That's an awfully strong loft for a PW.  Most are in the 46*-48* range.

Regardless, I agree with this......  Leaves room for another club as needed elsewhere in the bag.

That's nothing, someone posted about their 42* pw the other day!!! That is crazy, maybe stronger than my 8i!

Yes they are strong irons, callaway diablo edge basically moved all of their clubs down 1 club. New question, Suppose I went with the taylormade would my yardages be close between the 52&54 and cause me more harm them good?

Counting your Diablo Edge PW, you have five different brands and models of wedges. Lots of room for things that will cause distance variation.

  • How do the shafts compare to each other in length? as you go from low to high loft, any shafts that are an inch apart? Any that are the same length? Rule of thumb for average golfer: 4* difference in loft and 1/2" difference in shaft length between irons (of same model) translates into 10-12 yards difference in distance.

It would be easier for you to work your wedges as a team if you didn't have an "all star" mix. If your average yardages are correct, you could keep all five wedges and have fairly even gaps on yardage. This is a bit lucky, considering the wild mix, but it crowds out other clubs.

Or, you could look for Nike SV wedges in 50.10 and a 58.10 to go with your 54.12 SW.  Dump the solis, TM and Vokey. This would give you a 6* gap from PW to GW, and 4* on the others.

You can find SVs for about $60 each here and there. Here's an Edwin Watts link on SV wedges and specs: http://www.edwinwattsgolf.com/nike-sv-tour-wedges---steel/10024543/product?ad_id=DSA_Google&gclid;=CKCczd2PgrYCFQk4nAodshEA4g

Wow, I never really thought about it like that. Thanks! I'm not sure of the exact specs on the wedges, I like the idea of sticking with one brand wedge. I'm going to go to the range again and try all my wedges, pick my favorite, and build off of that Thanks

FWIW the Nike SV Tours are great feeling wedges IMHO, and as WUTiger noted, they can be had for a song.

I like the Nike solution. It sounds like you have an opportunity to streamline and get more efficiency out of your line up if you followed this advice. WUTiger is on the mark, IMO. My preference would be to keep 4 degrees between the pw-gw and then go 5-6 degrees with the finesse wedges. I do the 48-54-60 and don't miss out on too many distances. Stock distances for me are 125, 105, and 85 and it is easy to vary any of these +5 to -15 to cover most situations. Outside of this range it takes a little bit more skill but you gain that with experience. If you like the shorter gaps then go 4 degrees. I just find it easier to control short wedge distances and trajectories.
