To anyone that has tried the ATV wedge, how do you like them? I'm thinking about upgrading my wedges but I'm curious to find out what people think about them.

I own a few ATV wedges from Taylormade......the only one that I use is the 60 degree.  I do not use the 52 degree or the 50 degree ATV wedges.  As you probably know, there is no option for bounce, what you buy is what you get as TM simply does not make different bounce options for each wedge.

At times this has been a problem for me since I have been playing golf for less than a year. The problem that I find is that because my ball striking is not as good as someone that has been playing for years and years, when the course is very wet and very soft, I find that the edge of the club digs too much into the turf behind the ball (I know that if I just hit the ball first that this would not be an issue, unfortunately this is a work in progress for me).  I found that the problem of this "scalping" of the ground is much worse on the 50 and 52 so I play the old XFT TM wedges with those lofts because I have found that the club is more forgiving on fat shots than the ATV wedges.

I like the 60 degree though.  It took a while to adjust to it but since I am new to golf this was going to be the case with any wedge I chose.  In summary, to answer the question you posed, if you are an experienced solid player that makes good contact and understands how to each different shots, I think the ATV wedge would be great.  If you are the opposite then you may want to go a different way.  Hope this helps....good luck!

UPDATE: Purchased two ATV wedges, 52 and 56 degrees. I love them, they just glide off the surface of the turf. Anyone wanting to get them, they are well worth the money!

Have you ever tried vokeys? I have a older vokey looking to get a new one, just wonder how they compare if you've used them.

No I haven't. But if this helps any, I did have some cleveland cg-16 wedges and they were good but in my opinion not as good as the atv.

keller19xc they do really well, for me they make the ball pop out of the sand very very easily!

looks like your a taylormade fanboy. the wedge isn't bad, but no were close to vokey or cleveland. try those 2 before you go with the atv wedge.

Ha every post you ever make proclaims your opinions as if they are facts.
looks like your a taylormade fanboy. the wedge isn't bad, but no were close to vokey or cleveland. try those 2 before you go with the atv wedge.
Like I said, I've used Cleveland and don't get me wrong they're good. But the ATV makes some of those tricky shots a lot easier. In my opinion.

I have the 54 and 58 atv. Got them both for $110 used on ebay in great condition and I couldn't be happier. Before I purchased I found a great thread, on this site I believe, where TM sent wedges to users for review. The reviews were very positive so I bought a pair and haven't looked back. I haven't used the competitors products since I am new to the game and these are my first high dollar wedges, but they do work as advertised: the sole is versatile, has enough bounce for sand or anything else you want to do.

I recently purchased the 52*, 56* and 60* ATV wedges and they are pretty much my favourite clubs ever. The 56* and 60* wedges are amazing out of the sand and around the green, while I've found the 52* wedge is also brilliant as a full swing club. Can't recommend them highly enough.

I had a Wilson Di9 56* and never could get used to it. I decided to give this wedge a shot (same degree, 56), and I have to say, one of the best things I have put in my bag. My consistency has tripled and my chipping has become the best part of my game. Great feel off of the fringe and out of bunkers. The only negative thing I can say about it is that I can't hit a SW 100 yds anymore. For some reason, I can only get about 80 yds out of it now. It produces a ton of backspin and I'm able to hold greens a lot more now. I really enjoy this wedge.
