Has anyone used the puttist ? Looks like a really cool idea to ingrain distance control on your putts . It is a bit pricey though.

Practicing 30' putts on a 5' putting mat doesn't sound like a barrel of monkeys if you know what I mean.

Agreed but if it ingrains distance control on putts between 5 to 45 feet it might be worth it. Not really sure how effective this thing is though.

I have looked at this device but that is a lot of cash for something without proof of it working. Already wasted a bunch of money on new technology P3Proswing. I read up on it that you need to enter the stimp of the greens you want to put on. I would be interested in hearing if anyone has seen their putting improve from using this device.

I have one and like it a lot.  I don't use it as much anymore but I still think it's a good idea and a cool product.  I don't know of anything else that you can use in a small indoor space that helps with putting distance control (although I think Pelz has some sort of device also).

You can get hundreds of reps of different length putts while in your living room watching the golf channel or a bowl game or whatever.

I didn't get the feeling that the Puttist guy was advertising, just responding informatively on a post that referenced his invention.  But you guys run a tight ship, and it is your ship after all.

I recommend checking out the thread that I started last year on the Puttist.  I continue to use it almost daily.  I love it.  It works great and is nice to have as an option when you cannot go outside because of the snow.  Regarding price, yes it's high but I bought mine on Ebay brand new for less than $200.

    • Day 35, June 8. Before leaving for work this morning (yes, I'm posting this quite late relative to the practice), I spent 15 minutes practicing at home, into a net.  This time, it was primarily 9-iron (full swings), with some UW (full and half) and a few 6-iron.
    • Day 73: just some mirror work today. Working on feels for being open and getting the front shoulder down.
    • I'm liking this. Finally getting down hands in front of my trail leg pocket consistently at A6 with much better clubhead position (relatively not as tipped out). I can really pressure the shaft through impact with good face control  from this position and stay in balance. Won my first one v one march 5&4 against a 4 hcp who routinely drives it 35-40 yards past me in the men's club match play . Frustrated him with some solid iron play and air tight putting.
    • Day 279 6-8  Worked on low point control skills work tonight. will be doing this for a few weeks. Tonight was just trying figure out how to get low point forward.  No ball.
    • Day 8 (Jun 8 26) - Stayed the drill but added two additional irons (7i, 8i and 9i) - using Divot Board and hard foam balls - focused on tempo and purposed pause at the top….noticing how open the club is marking the board when I try to kill it and how much more square (and better distance) when I focus on these keys.
