I have been considering a new driver and my friend has brought forward a possible option...
my current setup:
Taylormade R5 9.5*
Neutral Setup
Standard S shaft (65)

Possible New Driver:
Cleveland HiBore 8.5*
Graffalloy Comp NT (65) S Shaft

I love my Taylormade, but i hit that cleveland at the range today and i really liked the way it sets up. I hit it pretty well and felt like i was getting more yardage out of the HiBore. BTW I could get the HiBore for pretty cheap.
What do you guys think? Is it worth it?

demo them and take them onto the course, its really the only way to test out the clubs.

as for the hibore, depends... if you want the original hibore then yes. check out the box stores. I believe I saw them running around 150 at Dicks. The new XL's will be full priced though

always ebay too, the original hibores should be low on there

Is it worth it? I dunno... you're probably the only one who could really tell us. If you hit the HiBore better, more consistant and longer then sure, why not. But you already said you love your R5... The original HiBore is pretty much $150 everywhere, at least around here. The XL I think is $300. Spend some more time on the range and make sure you hit the Cleveland better, maybe take your R5 out there too and compare the two, ie feel, distance, trajectory, accuracy, etc. Good luck.

If you're looking at the Hibore, might want to give Erik's a look.

I just got the Hibore XL. It is a very nice club that helped out alot getting off the tee. The salesman at Edwin Watts told me that on the XL they've done something different with the MOI and center of gravity to make the "sweet spot" much larger on the XL than the original hibore. I think rockbottomgolf.com has the originals for around $119, but that might not be with the upgraded shafts. I got my XL from a rockbottomgolf ebay auction for $219, kinda a no brainer since everyone is trying to dump out the hibore inventory and the XL's are still full price. Good luck.
I'm only at 13 clubs in the bag, what do you reccomend as a 14th? My foot wedge?

If I'm not mistaken the XL's have closed face angle. Friend bought a 9.5 Sat. it looked to be every bit 2* closed. Not sure about the originals. Fill me in!

Mine's the Tour. The original HiBore didn't even have a square/open face option - they were all closed. Read our two reviews.

Anyway, mine for sale (see signature or this link ) is the Tour version - square face, neutral weighting. Priced to move.

thanks everyone, but ive decided to stick w/ my R5, i couldn't hit anything but a fade w/ the hibore, which is weird for me cuz i hit a draw normally. I just didnt really like the way it came off the face tho i do think it hit a little farther than my R5.
