Does anyone have good resources on pitching? I struggle with hitting my pitches fat... which baffles me because I rarely hit full swings fat.

Thanks

Great thread about pitching by iacas here, complete with videos: http://thesandtrap.com/t/39411/quickie-pitching-video

Video above is great. One addition thought (shown on video but not called out)

I hit fat chips (and/or thin) when I don't keep lead arm straight. Because the shot is short, I sometimes get lazy and bend that lead arm and then bad things happen.

nice point - that video and thread dramatically changed my game

One thing I've personally noticed is that when people are trying to hit a 'light' or gentle shot (like short pitches) they unconsciously hold the club light too.  The shot is gentle, but the control must be firm.

IMHO - you need to make sure that the club is held very firmly.  That helped me a lot with cleaner contact and keeping the face angle under control.  Especially on a shot that is using the bounce.....When I do that, I pretty much eliminate the thin shots and just messy/sloppy shots.

the bounce (with the straight lead arm as noted) pretty much eliminates the fat shots

disclaimer - YMMV

This video discusses pitching and confirms what Erik and Mike state about the advantages of bounce and the danger of using the leading edge.
