MxV Putter...a bit unusual

As someone who games a two ball backstryke putter "ugly stick", I use it for alignment. I have to produce the roll with my stroke. I can get it in the cup just as easy with a 6 iron as my putter if I make the correct stroke. As for this putter the same applies, just didn't know how tall the ugly tree grew and that a branch would break from the top and hit every sister branch on the way down. I've been fooled before, thought the backstryke was the dumbest thing I'd ever seen and now I game it. So if ever the chance I could try a used one I would give its best chances of working for me, or I could use a pipe. Boom...outta here.

We have consulted with scientists, real ones, since our inception and we stand behind our claim. Keep poking holes in it - I've got better things to do.

So we don't believe the results of an independent Quintic study or the backing of a leading, unpaid top 10 PGA teacher, or our independent study or any of that? Independent Golf Reviews "Unconventionally Straight" review, Putterzone's "Top Mallets for Summer", etc. etc... Then there's no pleasing you regardless of what you want to discount or what I want to present as evidence.

If we were to give a putter to everyone who wanted to "test" one, we'd already be out of business. If you'd like a discount, you can use the code FF on our website but I have a sense you're not actual buyers.

So thanks for the welcome, but I'll take my blogging time offline and get back to work supporting the believers.

In regards to the part that I highlighted in bold and blue, I cannot help but laugh here. It's obvious that you are slightly offended and on the defense here, but this is in no way, shape, or form how a true professional reacts to adversity and doubt. If you really are that confident in your product, you would not be debating the functionality and reputation of your product.

In fact, you would have simply kept to one post most likely and offered a discount code and ended your debate with "Please feel free to try my product and see the results for yourself. Use the Coupon Code "FF" if you are interested. I respect your opinion, but I know my product is capable of producing the advertised results and the reviews on my product speak for themselves."

No one asked for a free putter or a handout. I simply asked that you provide somebody with a trial so that they can review your product for The Sand Trap and all of its members and readers. You can't possibly tell me that you have so many organizations and communities interested in your product that you would go bankrupt by providing a single demo with a Loan Agreement (30 day return or MSRP policy) to major outlets.

Finally, with the approach that you take to those who are "non-believers" and skeptics and critics, I am definitely not a buyer. In fact, I know that you will not be a household name at any point in time in the foreseeable future. Nobody that I know wants a putter which promotes more opportunities for a bad putt, being that you can actually come into the ball with negative loft (hitting up and catching the ball above the equator). This can be done with any putter sure, but yours openly invites it in for tea and strumpets.

You clearly need a few lessons yourself. Not on golf, but in business management. You should also hire a marketing strategist or PR firm to handle these debacles for you as well since you miserably failed to represent your line in a professional and proper manner.

I have no idea whether bkwitt's website claims are accurate since I've never tried his putter, so I won't comment on the putter.

What I do know is bkwitt is never going to make it in business if this is how he handles himself in public.  bkwitt had an opportunity to become a supporter of the site, lend a few putters out for review and become a member of a tight knit community of dedicated golfers (his target market given his putters $200 price tag).   Instead he acts out like an 8 year old when questioned, insults the owner of one of the best golf sites on the web and alienates a community of potential customers, not a good business move.

I'm always open to trying out new products but after seeing how he conducted himself here, he's got zero chance of earning my business in the future.

I don't know that I would have built a putter based on "Newton's Cradle". It shows really no ability in making topspin to me, I will say this though and I may be off here but according to bwitt the putter is the exact size of the ball and when putting with it, the club is grounded. So in order to use it, it must be lifted slightly at least and will always hit "above" the balls equator which in this case would be better than the "Newton's Cradle" thought. The roundness of the putter face would not allow loft to hit up on the ball therefore creating topspin on contact. I am not saying this is the ideal way to do it, it is just the way I envision the process. Kind of like two gears working together.

"My ball is on top of a rock in the hazard, do I get some sort of relief?"

As the originator of this thread allow me to chime in on a few things -

1. I'm a bit taken aback about the back and forths that I've read here. I brought something to this forum that I thought would be interesting but quickly watched the discussion disintegrate.Having had in the past the ability to draw other designers, authors, theorists into another forum that I once frequented .I'm a bit taken aback

Would the same have happened with another mfg. ? I've yet too see a bs call out of TM / Cally / Ping (et al.) products that claim extra yards, new grooves that spin like Tiger, putter faces, etc...

2. I never met the owner of this company so I have no dog in this fight.

3. Re:Spyder -No one asked for a free putter or a handout. I simply asked that you provide somebody with a trial so that they can review your product for The Sand Trap and all of its members and readers. I think that bkwitt has already addressed that with his asking me to get in contact with him.

4. I will contact bkwitt and if a putter is forthcoming I will provide a review here.

I think bkwitt was the one to initiate rude behavior with his post that stated;

Until then he and Erik were debating the technology and claims.  As for us calling out the larger manufacturers, go read some older posts, plenty of posts knocking TM claims, Callaway marketing confusion, etc.  None of us have a dog in the fight, but if you develop a new putter and make outlandish claims you have to be prepared to answer the skeptics questions.  bkwitt might make great putters but he needs thicker skin and some education in how to better represent himself and his business on social media sites.

It happens all the time. The reason why it's not talked about more may very well be that people almost assume those things to be true these days and they get tired of pointing them out (or having them pointed out by others).

This person, this company, made very specific claims about "science" that don't stand up to a sixth-grader's level of physics, unfortunately.

The major OEMs are also smart enough not to get into flame wars on forums as it runs the risk of having said flame war become one of the top google hits associated with your product. Major fail right there.

bkwitt did not address a trial in any way. He gave you a "shout out" and told you to get in touch with him if you were local so he could let you take one of the putters out and give it a shot. Nothing in that "hey, thanks for mentioning my product, give me a shout and I'll let you test drive one" statement alluded to an official trial where a review would be posted in the Reviews section of this website, or in this thread.

Also, no offense, but you have just cleared 25 posts on this site and I am less likely to take your review as seriously as I would someone that has been a part of this community with unbiased views and is educated in physics and the game of golf and its concepts. That is not a personal stab at you, because I frankly don't know you or your stance on anything, but just a fact.

I'll repeat what I said before - the owner of this company represented himself and his brand in a terrible manner and failed miserably to garner any sales from TST members and readers of the site. He should take some of his extremely high profit margin and invest back into the business via hiring some Marketing and Advertising Specialists and advisers to assist him in representing himself and his company more professionally.

    • Eh. He broke ONE of Tiger's records. Youngest to be ranked #1 in AJGA. It didn't help that Tiger's birthday is in late December, or that Tiger didn't play many AJGA events before he was 15. Did he do any of these things? • Day 56: 4/19/2024 Okay, even though I'll be teeing it up in a tournament in less than a week. I couldn't find time to get to the range today.  I spent time on the indoor putting mat.  And I spent time in front of the mirror with my 7 iron. Then again later with the driver.  I also thoroughly cleaned all my clubs.
