I went to college in Chattanooga, TN, and we played a lot of golf in north Georgia. The two courses that I like the best were Field's Ferry and Windstone Golf club. Also, if you want to travel into Tennessee there's a Nichlaus course at Harrison Bay state park. There's actually quite a bit of decent golf in the Chattanooga/North Georgia area. Battlefield Golf course, near Chicamauga battlefield is an ok course, but is usually very dry. We only played there because our caddy cards got us 18 with a cart for 10 bucks.

I can recommend some courses for you but you need to be more specific as to where in N. Georgia you are going to be.

Big Canoe has several good courses, as does Brasstown Valley. If you are going to be in NE Georgia I have a whole different list.

Brasstown Valley is a great course. We go there every June for a customer appreciation weekend.

Isn't there a Bear's Best course in the north ATL area?

I hear Sugarloaf TPC is nice.

Just kidding...

There's a TON of golf up this way. Bear's Best is in Suwanee. Collins Hill GC is a decent public course, as is St Marlo CC. I've not played it, but you might want to check out Chateau Elan in Braselton too.

I'm playing Collins Hill on wednesday, I hope it's alright. TPC Sugarloaf looks pretty good, some of my classmates are members there, maybe I should get in sometime.

Collins Hill had very good greens, I heard they had just redone them, but there were 2 holes where they were still redoing the fairways and they were all dirt.
