I know this has been asked numerous times on this site but I haven't yet found a definitive answer. Yell at me if my question doesn't belong in this thread. My intention is to use my existing digital camera (30 fps) to submit to evolvr. Will they even accept that? I have had my eyes on the GoPro line for aviation purposes, but I don't yet have the money to pull the trigger on that one. And even so there's the "fish-eye" thing going on, so I'm not sure if it's suitable for golf swings. Will the evolvr folks accept GoPro movies?

Both work. I've only used my iPhone, and if you look at beachcombers swing thread you'll see he uses the fish eye gopro camera. They've never got to the point where they told me that my problems are so subtle that I need a faster camera. ;)

Both are fine. The higher the speed the better, but 30 FPS is fine.

Just be as careful as possible about your alignment and camera height. And use good lighting if possible.

Seriously, I've begun work on keys 4 and 5 this week. The swing seems very repeatable and the contact is very good. What it feels like is my hands are coming down on a straight line from the top of the backswing to the impact point beyond the ball (inside out). This may not really be the case, but that's the feel. I'm driving the hands down with as much wrist cock as possible. Somehow, the clubhead releases and makes good contact just about the time I start rotating my shoulders. I'm not sure of the sequence because of how fast it happens. If my hands and clubhead are aligned correctly, the ball is on a good flight path - sometimes with a right to left curve but mostly straight.

I know this should be in the "My Swing" thread, but I wanted to reply to cipher's post. I'm trying to be cautiously optimistic, but I think this may be a swing I need only apply incremental changes to. I still need to improve key #2.

To the OP, there was nothing easy about getting to this point. What everyone suggested was to work one key at a time and that seems to be working so far.

    • Day 292: light day today. Mirror work, working on getting my hips more open in the downswing.
    • Day 135 (27 Apr 24) - played Bradford Creek today while waiting for the missus fly in from her extended visit with the grands.  Good day to stay focused as it was a hurry up (groups pressing from behind) and wait (groups taking their time ahead)…a good day to stay mentally in the game - play the shot and not get frustrated in the waiting…
    • Day 122: 4/27/24 Supposed to be a Stack training day but I was beat after yard work today. Practiced chipping and putting at The Creek. The practice green is pretty slow but the session went well.
    • Went to the range today and was cursing myself when I got there as I realized I forgot my phone. I added an earlier wrist hinge to the short backswing I was using last time practicing and ball strikes were really good for the most part. I'm heading back to Boston Thursday to see friends and family and have a couple of rounds planned so I'm hoping to keep this feeling.  Yesterday morning I weighed in at 232. My goal had been 230 but maybe now it's 220. I'll have to think about that. I feel so much better without the extra 90 lbs. from 2 years ago. Still a softl slightly less protruding belly so it might be time to go hard on eating better. Work in progress.
    • Day 7- Went to the range and hit a bucket. Also did some chipping and putting.
