  1. 1. Does green side spin make a noticeable difference from tour to entry level balls?

I notice a different on chips and pitches.  I normally play recycled prov1x's but recently been trying the gamer tours, which have urethene covers.  I haven't done a side by side, but it rolls out a lot more than I am used to on chips and pitches.  I don't notice any difference on full iron shots.

That being said, I have done side-by-side testing on some balls (don't remember which) and couldn't see the difference.

I can't bring myself to buy golfballs at $1 a piece let alone $2-3+. I don't know that I'd see any major difference/improvement in my scores, but I've no doubt that a better ball striker will.

FWIW I just bought 5 dozen AAAAA recycled DT Solos for $40 shipped. This will be my first time buying used balls but I've heard nothing but good about it from others so I thought I'd give it a try.

At my level of play the ball won't make much difference but I like to use the same ball so I know what to expect around the green and I like a soft feeling ball so I'm going with the DTs.

Found a couple of ProV1s on the course the other day, great ball and I certainly didn't notice any I'll effects off the tee which is what you're usually warned about as a high handicapper. $5 a ball is a tad rich for my blood though.

Yours in earnest, Jason.

I've noticed a tremendous difference between my old Pinnacle Golds and new DT Solos with regards to stopping power on the green.  With my DT's anything over a half swing from a wedge produced a hop-n-stop yesterday.  It was magical.  And I am by no means advanced, I was +8 on 9 holes from the tips on a tough course though. 73.6/130. Had some really interesting chips and nailed most of them where they needed to go.

Stopped a gap wedge on an island green on the dot within 2 feet.  This isn't common for me.  Can't say the same would've happened with a different ball.
