I took the old video out with me a few nights ago and tried something Ive never done before, video'd an entire hole :)

This is one hell of a picturesque hole! The drive has to be dead straight because the moment you go left or right you are screwed. You also cant hit it too far because you run out of fairway very quickly!! Anyway, the hole itself is called Badgers Alley as Badgers live in the woodland immediately to the left and right of the fairway:)

Finally...a very rare event indeed...a birdie AND captured on video (ok, I know the flag is still in the hole, dont rain on my buzz!:)

Too cool! Looks like an interesting tee box location from the map which would lead me to believe there is very little room for a pull-fade (my shot of choice).  But watching the video and seeing the real teebox location I think it would play just fine.

That looks like a very well-forested area.  I thought we had it bad in the US in a place called "Woodlands" (i.e. there are lots of woods).

Wonder about mounting an iphone and parking the cart to video the entire round?  Wonder if it would help with understanding our swings/tendencies throughout the round?

440 yards and you have 67 to the green? You had a 475 yard hole with the same distance left didnt you? And that was a 20-yard and a 15-yard putt? Nice looking hole and well played and Im probably dumb for posting this the first day Im out of the sin bin but im not sure any of those numbers are accurate.

"The expert golfer has maximum time to make minimal compensations. The poorer player has minimal time to make maximum compensations." - And no, I'm not Mac. Please do not PM me about it. I just think he is a crazy MFer and we could all use a little more crazy sometimes.

And with a fairway wood, no less!

I noticed that too, but I think the embedded caption is wrong - it says #17 but Badgers Alley (which is the picture attached) is actually #16. At 315 yards though, still an impressive tee shot.

This is #17 according to the scorecard.

Also maybe OP made a mistake.  On the website #16: " A very testing and picturesque 326 yard par 4 faces you at the 16th"

And OP that's an awesome tee shot on 16.  17 looks like a really fun hole too.

Yep, hole description says 326, card says 315: http://www.bramptonparkgc.co.uk/pages.php/the-card.html/d503f2a2-847a-11e1-b768-bc305bd9eec9.html

Cool looking course. Don't see many with dense tree lines like that here.

Oh..hehe...yes, sorry my bad :)

Badgers Alley is the 16th hole...I shall update the video eventually :)

You know, after only a couple weeks of hot weather the course is as hard as a rock. In the winter Id be using a driver off the back tee because that fairway can get really soft. You can get away with a bit of a slice but you will never get away with a hook. The top of the fairway is quite deceptive as it doesnt look like you have a lot of room from the tee but once you get up there the area is surprisingly large.

In regards to the video, I usually have my iPhone on me and use that to record a few holes so I can see what Im doing with my swing. When I slow things down I can see just how bad my out to in swing is! Although right now Im saving up to get a Go Pro3 camera and hoping the slow motion function on that will help with further analysis of my swing.

    • Yes, because you have lifted to like 120° without bending the left elbow. So when you turn and the left elbow bends… it bends in such a way that you then lower your left humerus and pull the club around you.

    • Day 3 (23 Jun 26) - Grandson put in to play this morning when he arrived at the house.  He wanted to play a full 18 from the "purple" tees (these are custom tees that play shorter than our gold but longer than the red) in a best (super) ball duet.  Was a great day working on course management - seeing him play well (for a 10yr old) - for example, hole 12 has a temp green about 100 yds from the tee box, he hits a solid 8i to 4' pin high and nails a birdie putt.  Could have never been prouder.  These are the moments grandfathers dream of - and hopefully the memories he will recall when his day comes to be Paw-paw for his grandson....may the game live on.
    • Posted a couple swings here. I think my attempt to blend the movement still results in a more “around” back swing?
