RAC OS and OS2 are game improvement. RAC TP are players irons.Cleveland CG4s are game improvement too they are a little less forgiving than RAC OSs, but a little more workable, yet still game improvement.

It's hard to hit a bad shot with the RAC OS models. At less than 400 a set, you'll have plenty left to fill your bag with good stuff. You could get a number of good drivers in the 200 range and add some really nice wedges too!

Which model do you have? I can lead you to threads about Top Flite Tour Irons. People say they are probably one of the most underated GI irons of all time. People who play them absolutely love them. You're the 1st person I've heard say anything bad about them.

I have those, that's all I know about them. My dad got them for me a few years back.

I don't know, I mean they're alright, but it seems that they have faults everywhere-they do everything okay, but nothing great...I would just like a better iron, my dad made the mistake of not allowing me to try out other sets to see what I liked before buying.

Being a father of two, let me correct this for you...

I bought Callaway X-20's (PW thru 6) almost 3 weeks ago and they are great irons IMO. I also tried the Mizuno X-19's and was very, very close to buying them but went with the X-20's.

I went with MX-19s about a month ago. I like the X-20s, but the Mizuno just felt better to me. I've really enjoyed them thus far after 4 rounds.

My only complaint is that there about a half a club shorter distance-wise than my old Tommy Armour 855s. The trajectory is much better though so I'm willing to make that trade off.

Haha trust me, I meant that in that way....my dad and I have a very "tough love" type situation, especially on the golf course...

We always rib each other on many things, especially bad shots. Heh, it still makes for a fun day.

    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
