Hi all, new to the site and the game of golf.  The cliff notes back story is that I grew up fishing, my wife and I found out we were expecting our second child so we made a lateral move out to the 'burbs and bought a house on a golf course (right by the tee box).  After watching people tee off for a couple of months, realizing that it was tough to get the boat out to the lake when Mama is home with a fussy baby, and because we wanted to join the club to get access to the pool (whew!), I decided to up the membership to include golf and took the game up a few months ago.  Now? I am addicted to this game. I work on some aspect of my swing every day. I don't get to play too many rounds right now because of the new baby (probably played 12-14 rounds total) , but I am a straight up range rat.

I am still terrible (shoot an honest 102-108, with penalties), but my ball striking is getting better and my short game is coming along well (I spend a lot of time chipping in the yard).  All along my putting has been surprisingly decent.  I usually two putt and only three+ putt a few times a round.

My two year goal is to get down to the point where I can shoot mid 80s consistently.

My one month goal is to break 100- I think I can with some better course management.  For example, I had a 106 last weekend, but had 4 OB penalties from drives.  That hurt.

Hoping to learn and share the good times and bad times through this site.
