There's little point in that. He could change his grip and his swing flaws would still be the same.

I think it's a reasonable suggestion after 36 pages of swing analysis gets him  a 24 HC.

Yea, there's a reason @Abu3baid is still a 24 and his swing hasn't changed much. It has nothing to do with his grip. Please stop barking up that tree.

I agree with @iacas, Eyad. Do you want to get better and can put in the time and effort to do it? If not, there's nothing wrong with that, but you have to accept playing golf at around the level you're at. I play regularly with a guy that's been a 20 for 35 years. He gets mad at bad shots like everyone else, but he enjoys the game for the most part.

GHIN says the average male HC is 14-15....you have 2 years and 32 pages of analysis and are 16.8.....but grip is not to be discussed.

No, for reasons already stated: he never practices.

Changing his grip will change almost nothing about his swing. You can't seem to get that very simple thing through your head.

@Abu3baid, how much time did you spend on your grip when you were in the U.S. and worked with Joe earlier this summer? How much did changing your grip help, and how much did the far bigger motions you worked on help you?

Abu is a 24 HC with no consistency to his ball striking after even more instruction than I was aware of.How you can continue to berate the grip question is beyond me.The grip is more than weak/strong..interlock/varden...light/heavy pressure.

yes and yes, but do you really believe that my swing hasn't changed from 2 years ago or even from 6 months ago?

Maybe the swing isn't evolving as fast as some, and yes I don't live next to a range so I settle for practicing with plastic balls wrapped in electrical tape at home, but that's the best I can do.

my grip was addressed in the first evolvr lesson from Mike and haven't discussed it since, it was a relatively easy fix along with my posture and other setup stuff.

I spent right around 0 of my time with Joe on my grip of around 5+ hours of instruction over a 5 week period.

Our main focus the whole time was the path of the club because I was swinging 9* left and by the time I left I was swinging maybe 1-2* left and now I think I'm swinging out.

I just became a 24 hcp this past two months.. 4 months ago I was easily a 36 hcp scoring in the +115 range.. Take a look at my first 4 game golf games I actually recorded.

Buddy, you avoid it all the time. You repeatedly avoid answering direct questions and responses to the drivel you post. You've offered zero proof, evidence, or support for your to-this-point specious claims about the über-importance of the grip.

Changing Eyad's grip will not change his handicap an appreciable amount.

Please cite references from each where they say that a golfer will lower his handicap an appreciable amount just by changing their grip.

A good grip is important - you'll get no argument from anyone here on that - but it's nowhere near as important as you keep wanting it to be. It's several orders of magnitude less important. It's easy to fix, and results in very little changes to the overall motion and scoring capability of a golfer.

For the final time (because if I have to type it again, I'm just going to jump you straight to 50 warning points and you'll permanently be banned for trolling, given your now nearly 300-post history of ignoring and failing to respond to the many hundreds of posts and points and questions raised against your opinions), you could put me in a weak, palmy, reverse overlap grip and take two strokes a side and I'd still beat you. And I don't get a chance to play all that often.

Remember, you told a 20 handicapper that the time to work on the "big moves" was over - that it was just about the "small stuff" from there on out.

It's an interlock grip.. Nothing to see really..  But first confirm that you don't think that once a week is a lot of golf.  :)

Are you going to show us why it actually matters with definitive proof? The grip is a very minor piece that can be learned once and generally forgotten about afterwards, besides periodic checks to make sure it hasn't creeped into a bad position over time.

There's too much variation in good golf grips to really say that one grip is quantifiably better than another, so long as the fundamentals are solid.

Eyad, this is your swing thread so I'll remain positive.

At the risk of sounding a bit overly dramatic, what you have done to reduce your handicap is nothing less than inspirational to the rest of us who struggle to improve. There's something to be said for one who works as hard as any pro - relative to their available time - just to get to the point where things start to get better. You deserve your recent success.

Don't listen to criticism from anyone who doesn't have your interest in mind. Keep up the good work.

    • Have played 3 serts of 18 holes since Monday and last night added 6 holes but had to quit because it got dark on us.    My last time I shot a 56 on the front nine with 16 puts.
