I've been having trouble fixing a problem in my swing where instead of continuing to rotate my hips through impact I will end up pushing them up and forwards. This is driving me nuts, as it results in thin and inconsistent shots, as opposed to continuing to turn through it.

Does anyone have a way of describing a feel for this, or some sort of drill to help me with this problem?

It could be an issue with how you are loading the club into the top and then transitioning. Also feeling the right glute as if it stays against a wall helped me with this a bit. That could be a feel for you. Best practiced in slow motion swings at first.

If it's any help, my hips do rotate until I get to just before impact. Hey end up about 30* open in relation to my line when they tart to move forwards and up, so it seems to go fine until I get to impact. That's the most frustrating part is watching my swing look good on video right up until impact, then the problems showing up.

Work on getting the lead hip to go towards the target, and rotate back and up. The lead hip will go up, but it goes back not forward. Try this, take your stance so your butt is an inch away from a wall. You don't need a club, take a swing, get your right hip to touch the wall, and then get your left hip to touch the wall.

    • Just add new stats of speed of play to the tour. Average time to hit a shot Number of shots per round the player took more than 40 seconds to play a shot Number of times under the clock Numbers of warnings per round for slow play Number of penalty strokes per round for slow play  Number of times the player took a WC break. Time spend on the WC  Number of times the player don't know basic rules and have to call for a rules official  Walking average speed Time spend reading yardage books Time spend arguing with the caddie about hitting an impossible shot.  Average time looking for a ball beyond 3 minutes.  Average time looking for balls on the hazards despite been in the middle of the fairway An a lot more that can give the committee enough information to award penalties after a round, tournament or even a season. Imagine a ruling were a player is awarded to play all April with 1 shot penalty each round because of slow play in March, should be a shit show I would love to see.
    • I agree. I like the Mission Impossible movies. None of them are life changing or movies that I would put in any kind of a top ten list. But they are pretty much always keep me entertained.
    • Might be good. Part 1 was only okay.
