I have been pretty good about taping my swing at the ranger over the last few weeks, and one thing I have noticed is my head seems to be moving forward too much as I shift my weight, and I think this is partly responsible for my poor impact position (not much spine tilt, hands not ahead of ball). This is quite apparent after watching videos of Tiger and seeing how still he keeps his head as the rest of his body moves forward. Any tips on how to keep my head back while pushing my hips forward? It just feels so unnatural when I try...

I don't have any tips.  However, I have this cycle that I go through where I start hitting the ball well and eventually think I'm gonna break through, then I start to play like a 25 handicap.  It inevitably comes back to too much head movement on the downswing.  I finished this cycle about a week ago most currently, and have been working on keeping my head still on the range all this week.  The only thing I do, is have my singular swing thought being "don't move head."

It seems like trying to generate power while keeping the head still naturally forces my hips to move forward (and my head to dip slightly).

I need to feel hips stay low and that I'm swinging into a flexed front knee in order to get hips forward with moving body forward.

I also do not think about my head but rather the top of my spine. Same thing in effect but works better for me to think about spin and not head.

My pro worked at stopping me move my head forward, just my hips and I started to pure my irons high.  After the lesson I struggled to maintain it because I concentrated so hard on a still head that I started leaning backwards from torso up in the down swing.  Ended up with weight on the back foot. It's hard, really hard, but try to keep your head really still as you take the club back and then feel as though only your lower half moves as you fire through downswing.  And dont try to take a big divot.  sweep down and point face out to target. My pro demonstrated by taking a good divot with too much upper body going forward creating a low slice, then he fired the hips and extended through with head still, no divot and hit it into orbit with a draw.  Watch Zac Johnson,, thats what he advised me :-)  Hands through the impact at target and up and high letting the loft on the club do its job. Not easy but with time it works.

I would suggest this.  After watching a video of myself doing what you are describing, I watched this video and it helped get the feeling of how my body should move and where my head should be throughout the swing

Thats a great drill for chipping but not sure how much it helps a full swing, you have to learn to hold off moving in backswing and drive hips in downswing, not lock em in place at the start.  Nothing beats a real lesson, when you put it all together you brain suddenly says "I get it".  Go see a pro and work hard.

I do the same, I'm really trying to limit the head movent that is aim this winter. Ive pretty much quitened it in the back swing, i use an old flag stick spiked into the ground at about 45 deg place the ball so the top of the flag is about an inch from my ear and hit balls. My plan is to get another one for the other side....I'd say i will be duffing for awhile
