2d annual USA vs Dutchies match is tomorrow. 7 on each team. 3 4-ball matches and one singles. Team USA is carbo loading in preparation. Beer has carbs.....right?! :-D

Obviously we had no time for such frivolity. Between strategy sessions and practice rounds a balanced diet of proteine, carbs, vitamines and other substances not to be named her was consumated. We also found time to work in some teambuilding activities. Tonight we ended preparation with a sing-along contest, because as we all know, carefull planning and team spirit is key to bring the trophy back home ;-). Lastly We did a final rehearsal of the press conference to avoid any embarrasment. Needless to say we are ready. See you guys on the course :-P

Much more scientific than that. We took care not to match beer drinkers with whisky drinkers. That's just a recipe for disaster! :-D

Well, the results are in.... ....and the home team got CREAMED today! Final score, 1/2/1. @MacDutch specifically beat me for the second straight year. My team is talking about a non-playing captaincy next year. :~( @jetsknicks1 and his son Steven drove down and played too. All in all we had a BALL for the second year running. Great guys, great fun. Wait until next year! ;-)

Had a blast today with a bunch of great guys. Unfortunately I also lost my match 3 & 2 but had a great day with a really good group. And I especially want to thank David for playing us from the tees a good 600 yards further back than I usually play AND then informing me that I would be teeing off first in front of both teams. :-D I stepped up to the tee box and promptly duck hooked my drive OB. Lol
my get up and go musta got up and went..

We had tons of fun playing With David and his group. Margin between loss and win was a couple of putts, my playingpartner and I were lucky to beat David. The match between the two teams is the highlight of this vacation. Wednesday we will play again on invitation by one of Davids buddies on the private course where he is a member. But first Bay Hill today :-)

Some bragging rights on the line.

Another forum member, MacDutch, is coming to Orlando this weekend, along with 5 of his golf buddies from the Netherlands for 10 days of golf.  Frank reached out to me several months ago and asked if I'd be interested in getting together for a match, and of course I jumped at it.

This Sunday, he and his guys will be playing against 6 of us (sadly, I'm the only TST member) in a little Presidents Cup match of our own.  Three 4-ball matches.......and there just might be a beer or two consumed afterwards.  On paper it looks like we're pretty evenly matched with handicaps for both teams running from close to scratch up to 25ish.  Oughta be a blast!

Bring it on guys!

And here we are again. 9 Dutch golfers, all member of a Dutch golfforum and a couple also of TST will match against a team David-in-fl put together. We will play the match saturday 17th october. All games singles matchplay. David will get his chance to beat me now. Last two matches I won, but it was with help because we played fourball. Really looking forward

    • I have an update… I don't have much of a response, because the fact that they would ADD the numbers for the lead and trail shoulder together… I mean, wow. I was giving them too much credit. Nobody would think to assume they were doing THAT. That's beyond comical. One of the biomechanists I talked to put it this way: "So if I squatted down and went from 180 to 90 deg knee angle, then I would say 180 deg range of motion because I have two knees?" I'd type more (maybe), but honestly, I'm laughing a bit too hard. 🤣 Update: Mini Manavian blocked me on Instagram, so I cannot see his post showing Bryson with about 50° of range of motion (with a driver) from P4 to P7, and 75° only if you go out to the mid-follow-through. What a terrible loss for me. 😉
    • Thanks, interesting to read. The swing is definitely very timing dependent. I hit it consistently I guess but consistently bad.
    • I've shot 91-74 on the same day before. Couple of years ago played a two round tournament on Bethpage Black. I shot 72 in the first round and 90 in the second. First round I played very well. Second round I played okay, but had about 5 shots that hit the lips of bunkers and bounced down into them. A couple of those wound up in footprints - I was unamused - and I failed to get them out. Anyway - lots of bunkers and my bunker play isn't great and then add a couple of footprints and me getting pretty tired and it added up to a lot.  Only you can really tell though what's causing the variance. It might be that your swing is very timing dependent and when it's timed well you play well and when it's not then it goes all over the place. In that case, some lessons and working on your swing could be the key. If it's more that you tend to feel like you hit it fairly consistently, but you have days where the shots come off and days where they don't, then that's more likely a course management issue. If that's what you need to work on, then you could read Lowest Score Wins and build a plan of attack based on that.  Rest assured though that a pretty big range from high to low is fairly common. Even PGA Tour players often have 18-20 shot spreads from best to worst rounds in a season. It's a common affliction among golfers.
