I shot a 91, 48 on the front, 43 on the back....I'm a 30+ handicap so shooting 91 today was awesome. I finally didn't lose a ton of strokes on OB, missed chips, and easy putts. Cut about 10 strokes off what I usually lose and had some nice mid-iron strikes. woohooooooo I broke 100 yesterday for the first time and almost broke 90 the next day. I love golf

My low round was at my home course in the summer of '09.

I shot 66 (6 under) and had 9 birdies. I doubled the 2nd hole.

Meriwether National in Hillsboro, Oregon. I think the slope is 125 and the course rating is 71.2.

I was a 5 handicap at the time and shot 68 2 weeks later. It was a good summer.

I've had three 66s, one at 4 under, the other two 6 under.  The most I've ever been on the course is 7 under, after 13 holes, when the air got a little thin and I played the last five holes 5 over.  The 66s were at Harding Park in San Francisco, and another area course that I played a lot but can't remember the name of.

My weirdest round ever was an even par nine holes in a league in Dallas, where I made no pars!  Six birdies and three doubles.

I shot a bogus 65 once, 5 under, at Shamrock hills, the same place I shot the 4 under 66.  I played the first hole and bogied it.  We skipped 2 and 3 and went to the nearby 4th tee to get ahead of slow groups on 2 and 3.  We played around, returning to play 1, 2, and 3 to finish up.  This time, I birdied the first hole.  So...I did play 18 straight holes, starting at the fourth tee, at 5 under.  Yeah...doesn't count, huh?

I shot 69 the summer after I graduated high school (2007). Course was a par 72 that is 6800 yards from the tips. The 69 was with a 3 putt par on the 18th. I was a consistent scratch golfer at the time, but I didn't make a lot of birdies due to poor putting. I hit 15 greens the day I shot 69 and only made 5 birdies (I was close on more than 5 holes). There were a few 3 putts that day I believe. I am actually hitting the ball better now than I was then (and putting better), I just can't score to save my life. I have also shot 69 on another course that is a par 71. It is much shorter though....around 6100 yards from the tips. Greens are small as hell though. My low on my home course is 73. It's a hard course. 7200 yards from the tips. Some may have played it....Barnsley Gardens in Adairsville, GA.

I shot a 3 under 33 in the club championship last year on the front nine and finished with a 38 for a -1 (71), on our 6,700 yard home course. best i've ever had...followed it up with a 2 over and a 1 over 2nd and 3rd rounds to place second by a stroke.  i was a 4 handi at the time.

69 Par 69 at the course I worked back in 2006. Easy course though, 6 pars, 6 bogeys, 6 birdies.

Haven't played much since @ Stupid.

I tied my best round of 1 under 69 this past Saturday on my home course of par 70.   I shot a 38 (+3) on the front and a 31 (-4) on the back.  It was a pretty even round with 4 birdies, 3 bogeys and 11 pars.  I only hit 8 greens but scrambled to about 80%.  I had 3 3 putts and a penalty stroke (OB) so there's still lots of room for improvement.

I thought I needed birdie on the last hole for even par ... but I had miscounted.   A pleasant surprise of an under par round when I added up my scorecard!

HC=2.9

Lowest round 73 (+1) multiple times.

5 birdies, 4 bogeys, and a double is the most recent round.

I just can't seem to break par.  Its def one of my goals for this year.

My lowest is a 75 at a Father Day's tournament this year.  The course is a 9 hole course that you play twice with some holes playing longer and some shorter.  Course plays a lttle over 6000 yards, so not very long, but the greens are very small, it is an old course that use to have sand greens, and the fairways are not watered so they are hard, not firm, hard.  By the time June rolls around the most of the course is hard pan with something resembling grass on them,

You and me both brother.....I have shot +1 on a handful of occassions, but just haven't broken par yet......last round was a 74 with two "mental" mistake double-bogeys and a three-putt bogey (15 GIRs though, a personal best).....have faith and keep plugging away, it is going to come along.....

Correction:  One of the 66s was only 5 under.  sigh.  Palo Alto Hills, Palo Alto, CA, par 71.  Says it's index is 71.2, slope 133, but I don't remember it being that tough at all.  Very short course.  The other two 66s were better.  (Actually, one of my best rounds ever was even par, a 72 at Crestwood, Marcy, NY, in a ferocious wind. Score isn't always the best indicator.)

I've shot 73 Numerous times in the past on "real" courses, back when I had no wife or kid and played every day.

My lowest the past few years was a 68  on a par 70, but the course is extremely easy, with an index of 62.4

    • Day 22 - 2026-01-11 More mirror work. Back outdoors tomorrow.
    • Day 11, 1/11/26.  Today was putting, along about 6' of carpet, with coins on the ground to keep me cognizant of what I'm doing.  I think this is the at-home drill from LSW. (Ugh, missed two of the last four days -- 1/10 and 1/8)
    • Day 9: 2026.01.11 Hit some balls at the range, concentrating on weight distribution at address, got some on film.
    • Day 468 - 2026-01-11 Loooooong day. Did some work in the patio door (as a mirror) when I got home.
    • I caught a video on this driver; the face tech seems crazy. Looking at the heat map for ball speed, hitting it basically anywhere on the face only loses a few percent ball speed. The surprising and counter intuitive part to me was that for flat faced clubs, ball speed loss is directly proportional to distance loss. For clubs with bulge and roll this is apparently not true. The surprising part of that story being that the max distance potential looks to be a tiny pee sized area for this driver, and I feel in general for drivers. The counter intuitive part being (the myth?) that blade irons have a pee sized sweet spot and missing that tiny spot causes dramatic losses. And that modern drivers, maybe 2017 on, have massive sweet spots and are ultra forgiving. Where in reality, if this heat map data is valid and reliable, it might be a bit of the opposite. This insane tech driver appears to have a pea sized "sweet spot" while Mizuno Pro 241 irons are 28% more forgiving compared to the average of all clubs measured. Not compared to other players irons, compared to all clubs from all categories, players to SGI! The Pro 241 being essentially just a solid chunk of metal with no "tech" at all. Which for me devolves into a whole mess of what is forgiveness really? And in measurable and quantifiable results how many yards, or feet, does that translate into?
