Sure. Pros. The Cobra Bio has the best aesthetics in my option and very hot off the face and the ball takes off. The X Hot is a good looking club but does have some minor graphics on he head. It had the best feel of all the clubs and felt like you were controlling the ball not other way around. The SLDR had a junky feel to it and I personally felt that my tempo was never in rhythm. The Jetspeed has a nice look to it also and you can really get after the ball with it because it felt light to me. Ball came off the face like a spring board.

So was the X 2 Hot more forgiving on off center hits as advertised?

I would have to say yes. Every hit felt great and took off he face. Even when less than great swing. Now I was only hitting in a bay with a net a few feet in front but I was able to feel confident hitting it. Past 3 woods you can tell you hit it poor. Not one shot felt that way.

Thanks I'm going to be looking for a new driver once I'm not shoveling snow. That's one on my list of clubs to hit so I appreciate the info.

No problem. I just picked up a driver for next season. Got a used R1 black for $89. It had the SLDR shaft in a 65 stiff. Odd but hit really well. The new drivers coming are really nice also. I hit them today for no real reason. I bought a Ping G20 3 wood same day as R1. The shaft was not the standard either and made the club perform better. Check out different shafts if you can before making a decision.

I'm not in the market for a driver but I had time to kill so I hit some with the Xhot 2 today. I'm not a big callaway guy, but I really liked this driver. I was hitting a 9 degree with the stock stiff shaft. It was pretty long, very forgiving, and gave me the ball flight I prefer (mid trajectory draw) if I was looking for a driver this would be near the top of the list.

Thank you Dables. Did you give the X 2 Hot pro a try? From I read it has a smaller had and a different shaft. I think it also only comes in 8.5 only.

The Callaway Big Bertha comes out s oon. Would be curious how that stacks up to the X Hot 2

I didn't get to hit that, as I'm a lefty so I often don't get to hit everything. I will say that what I did hit had an absolutely massive head. Almost too big for me, but likely why it's so forgiving

I'm using a adams speedline super ls fairway wood in 15 degrees and I get a lot height out of it. I like the smaller head and heavier (70gr) shaft. I was going to buy the S model but I was getting a little to much height out of that model. they have the slot on top that made the ball jump up even on balls struck low on the face.

The Callaway X Hot 3 deep has a fade bias and may be what you are looking for. I have one in the 14.5 and it is an absolute bomber!

I think that the exotics have a slightly hotter face but I'm not sure. Those 2 are neck and neck

Lol I am too. I have a 3 wood from both brands and love them both. My 3 deep though is not for everyone...

I spent 2012 with TM Rocketbalz FWs, and dumped them the following year.

I played Callaway in the past, but went with Tour Edge Exotics XRail, basically an SGI fairway wood. My 4W and 7W are much more reliable than the RBZ.

If I got to where I was breaking 90 regularly, I might upgrade to the regular TE Exotics, or something from the XHot or X2Hot family.

    • I am semi-loyal. Usually buy four dozen of one ball and only play that until out and then determine whether to continue or try another one. Since starting my semi-loyal path to success, I've been playing the below, not in order: ProV1 ProV1x ProV1x left dash AVX Bridgestone BXS Srixon Z-star XV I am not sure if it has helped anything, but it gives a bit of confidence knowing that it at least is not the ball (while using the same one) that gives different results so one thing less to mind about I guess. On the level that I am, not sure whether it makes much difference but will continue since I have to play something so might as well go with the same ball for a number of rounds. Edit: favorite is probably the BXS followed by ProV1/Srixon Z-star XV. Haven't got any numbers to back it up but just by feel.
    • Will not do it by myself, going to the pro shop I usually use after Cristmas for input and actually doing the changes, if any, but wanted to get some thoughts on whether this was worthwhile out of curiosity.
    • In terms of ball striking, not really. Ball striking being how good you are at hitting the center of the clubface with the swing path you want and the loft you want to present at impact.  In terms of getting better launch conditions for the current swing you have, it is debatable.  It depends on how you swing and what your current launch conditions are at. These are fine tuning mechanisms not significant changes. They might not even be the correct fine tuning you need. I would go spend the $100 to $150 dollars in getting a club fitting over potentially wasting money on changes that ChatGPT gave you.  New grips are important. Yes, it can affect swing weight, but it is personal preference. Swing weight is just one component.  Overall weight effects the feel. The type of golf shaft effects the feel of the club in the swing. Swing weight effects the feel. You can add so much extra weight to get the swing weight correct and it will feel completely different because the total weight went up. Imagine swinging a 5lb stick versus a 15lb stick. They could be balanced the same (swing weight), but one will take substantially more effort to move.  I would almost say swing weight is an old school way of fitting clubs. Now, with launch monitors, you could just fit the golfer. You could have two golfers with the same swing speed that want completely different swing weight. It is just personal preference. You can only tell that by swinging a golf club.
    • Thanks for the comments. I fully understand that these changes won't make any big difference compared to getting a flawless swing but looking to give myself the best chance of success at where I am and hopefully lessons will improve the swing along the way. Can these changes make minor improvements to ball striking and misses then that's fine. From what I understood about changing the grips, which is to avoid them slipping in warm and humid conditions, is that it will affect the swing weight since midsize are heavier than regular and so therefore adding weight to the club head would be required to avoid a change of feel in the club compared to before?
    • I think part of it is there hasn't been enough conclusive studies specific to golf regarding block studies. Maybe the full swing, you can't study it because it is too complicated and to some degree it will fall into variable or random.
