I was just looking for some opinions on the Dunlop Vision Set ( http://www.tgw.com/customer/category...TEGORY_ID=6139 ).

I've searched the forum and have not found much information regarding this set. I am brand new to the game of golf, I've only hit the ball a few times at driving ranges and I'm looking to get into golf. I'm looking to buy a set of clubs that I can learn with but will not break the bank. I plan on taking lessons soon or at the beginning of next season. If there are any other sets that I should look at, please let me know. I am not looking to spend anymore than $250 on a set.

I bought it a couple of months ago to restart the game after a 30 year absence. They're working out great for the price but I did get a much better putter and the set doesn't come with wedges so I got a LW, GW, and SW. After my skills get better I'll upgrade and use these as a backup. For the price I would recommend them to any beginner.

Theres no way you'll get something more complete if you're only looking to spend 2-250. Thats typically what a cheaper set of irons will run you. Being as this includes woods, the bag, putter ext. if you're just looking for something to use for a few years this would be it.

In the bag:
Driver: r7 quad v2 stiff
3-Wood: XLS
Hybrid: X
Irons: CG Golds 3-GWSW: x forged 56/13LW: Vokey sm 60/.08Putter: Callie 35''Ball: pro v1

Thanks for the replies.

I think I've narrowed the decision down to either the Dunlop Vision set or the Jack Nicklaus set that can be found at Costco. Anyone have any suggestions on which set I should go with? I'm leaning more towards the Dunlop right now, but if the Nicklaus set is better, I would go with that.

Well I decided to order the Dunlop Vision set from TGW. I managed to get the clubs, balls, a glove (gloves actually since it was a 2 pack), and some tees all for less than the price of the Jack Nicklaus set.

You'll need a wedge or two. Check out Pinemeadow's wedges for $19 each. That should keep you in your budget.
