What putter do you use? State your preference and why.

I'm using a $10 Golfmate milled face putter right now, I'm about a 60/40 on the 2putt to 3 putt range. I really want to upgrade to a nicer putter, but I don't know what all is out there.

I'm leaning towards the Odyssey White Hot 2-Ball putter, becasue I see a lot of people using those, and I like the way they feel. I also have a Ray Cook Custom, but it's an old putter, and sort-of an heirloom.

I plan on buying on sale or on eBay, so anything I can find for less than $150 ina pro shop should be in my price range on eBay.

Suggestions? Guidance?

See sig. I've got the whole list in my bag. Thing is about putters is, I tried out about 20 different putters and just chose the one that 1) gave me the most confidence standing over the ball and 2) got the ball into the hole on a regular basis.

If you're determined to buy it off Ebay, then try out the putters in a pro shop first, and then look it up online.

Oh yeah, I always do that.....I got my irons off eBay for $168.00 with shipping. They were $199.00 at Academy, and $399.00 at BassPro.........eBay is the new hotness.

I've got lots of putters: several Pings (early Ansers, mostly), an STX Envision, an Odyessy DualForce, a Titlest Dead Center and a Taylor Made Rossa Indy (and a few others I can't recall right off). I like them all, but one usually "speaks" to me and earns it's place in the bag.

I'm one of those guys that rarely changes things up. But, I did make a putter change within the last four months, maybe five. And that's after 12 yeras with my previous putter. I putt with the odyssey white hot xg 7. I can't tell you how much I love the thing. After getting mine, my boss ended up getting one, along with two other members at the course.

I'd definitely recommend eBay. I've bought and sold a bunch of things there. Haven't checked www.callaypreowned.com or not, but that might have some good finds.

So, I start like everyone and tell you, what I'm playing. I got the "Rossa Monza" and I'm playing it since 2 years and I don't want to switch, cause this putter rocks on the greens.

But as a recommendation for you I would say that you should go to the next proshop to try some of them. I don't like the classical blade-putters, but maybe you do and you don't like the mallet-type.

Always remember that you have to like the look of your club and that you like to take it of your bag and knock in some birdie-putts.

    • Day 75 (15 Jul 25) - Wedge work today in the backyard.  Focused on setup and  dialing in on immediate target line point in front of club. This drill helps me to center on longer range targets for tee shots as well as approaches.
    • I still need to do my pieces better.  Still a little steep in the downswing. Hands could get better depth earlier in the backswing.  This shot started left of target and went left. Probably path was out, face was closed a lot.       At A5, it’s probably the best it’s been.  I need to feel more shallowing from A5 to A6. Hands need to go straight down and club needs to shallow. I need to turn. I am just way too closed here. Just trying to buy time to lower the arms. Everything stalls from time to time. Timing is highly variable. Not a big fan of the slight EE.  I am just hanging back at impact.

    • Well, on a "Bummer Note,"  I borrowed a Great Big Bertha driver, a 5 wood, and a 7 iron. I did not do very well but did shoot a 112 playing both right and left handed.   So, I decided to take a breather and play golf on my Play Station 5 and not play any real golf until the new set of clubs get her.  So, I will be back in  a week or so and bring everyone up to date.    Retired Old Man = Terry
