Hi, I am having a tough time finding course rankings for Orlando. I am looking at two diffferent packages (see below). For anyone familiar with Orlando which package do you think is the best? and which courses are the best out of the ones below?

Package 1:

celebration Golf Club
Disney's Palm Golf Course
Disney's Magnolia Golf Course
Ritz Carlton Golf Club

Package 2:

Orange Lake Resort - The Legends
Orange County National - Crooked Cat
Orange County National - Panther Lake
Falcon's Fire Golf Club

Paging @David in FL !

Welcome to the site @garrettlow .  There are a few forum members that are in the Orlando area.  They should be able to help.

Pkg 1 is the better package. Unfortunately, the 2 OCN courses are the 2 best courses, but FF and Orange Lake are the worst. I'd rate the courses as: 1. Panther Lake 2. Crooked Cat 3. Magnolia 4. Ritz Carlton 5. Palm 6. Celebration 7. Falcons Fire 8. Legends Some other very good courses to consider in that area: Bella Collina Mission Inn - El Campeon Shingle Creek Eagle Creek Waldorf Astoria Why the packages? There are lots of good golf options down here and if you use an on-line discount booker like GolfNow, you can play ala carte and get exactly what you want. You might want to compare pricing before pulling the trigger on a package deal. When are you coming? With the family or a guys golf trip? Welcome to the site, we're glad to help!

Hi,

Was putting together a package as we have about 12-16 guys coming down and it seems like the easiest way to put it all together.  We did our first yearly trip in myrtle last May.  We arent coming down until early May 2015, but im not too familiar with Orlando (only played reunion) so wanted to get my research done:

Here is what i have so far after making some modifications. I am basically putting the packages together by choosing the courses and accommodations and getting pricing below $500/person:

Accommodations: Paradise Palm Resort (a couple single homes)

Falcon's Fire
OCN - Panther Lake
OCN - Panther Lake
Shingle Creek.

I'd def take any other recommendations. I'm guessing it wouldnt be much more to replace falcon's fire with Magnolia.  My bro in law liked Falcon's Fire...what is it you don't like about the course?  thanks!

Nothing at all horribly wrong with FF.  I actually played it last Friday, but it was a $35 deal that drove me there.  It's a fairly open course and not all that challenging, but that can be a positive to a big group too.   Probably the biggest issue is that it doesn't drain well and can be sloppy if there's been a lot of rain......as may be the case in late Spring.  If you're limited to 4 courses, there are just better options available in the same general area and price range.  My personal preference would be to play Magnolia before FF, but that's just my preference.  Bella Collina is a great course and completely different from your normal FL courses.  A LOT of hills.  Always in great shape, and seeing the clubhouse alone is worth the trip.

You might want to check with OCN.  They have a lodge attached to the facility and stay & play pricing could be advantageous for a big group, depending on what you're looking for.

In May, booking through GolfNow or some such site, you'll easily play any 4 courses you choose for well under $500.  Catch a good deal or 2, and you could be closer to $350.

If you don't have to book right away, check in as you get closer and I can probably give you some insight to current course conditions.  As you know, they can change from week to week.

Don't fret too much though, wherever you end up, you're going to have a great time and play some really nice courses.

Not even close.... Waldorf is head and shoulders above the others. Followed by the Ritz, Falcons Fire, and Championsgate. I'd still put Disney Magnolia a bit ahead of the Ritz too, FWIW. All personal preference, of course.
