Haha if only... But looks like he's playing very solid. Almost 75% fairway hits this tournament. Man I hope so much he will play this whole tournament high on the leaderboards. He really needs a good finish on such a tournament once.

Are there many golf courses in The Netherlands? I lived in Germany for a few years ('86-'88), about 2 hours from the border so went quite a few times but don't ever recall seeing a course or a sign to a course there.

I've got my father to convert. He is walking around the house yelling JUICED! He still hasn't caught on yet.

I guess not as many as in USA, but I don't feel like that there are not a lot. From my house alone 2 courses within 10 minutes, en where I play and train now it's 25 minutes away. I think we have a fair amount of golf courses. Mix of park, link and forrest.

Just being a father since 2,5 months, I really should go to bed now. Hope to see some birdies when I wake up, playing very solid again and in top 10 now. Come on!

Holy cow, our boy Joost used to be a ski jumper.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? In Holland. Anything over 5 metres is considered mountainous

Ha, no doubt, I was surprised too; just heard it on the telecast.

It did occur to me that if Joost makes a move then they'll be all sorts of researchers desperately scrambling around for information on him tomorrow. Well Google index things based on content and recent activity amongst other stuff, so if we keep posting Joost numerous times and accompany it with spurious facts (or darn right lies) we could start something

Joost Luiten excelled in science whilst at school, founding the Uttrecht space agency and building 'Tulip One', the Netherlands first rocket from the spare parts of his sisters bicycle in his fathers shed. The rocket was housed inside a windmill (95% of dutch people live in windmills so it never aroused suspicion). Although it was regarded as a pioneering adventure, Joosts pet dog, and test pilot, did make the ultimate sacrifice when Tulip one failed to reach orbit on its only launch. Joost, filled with remose for the astronaut abandoned space exploration and took up golf.

The tulip isn't indigenous to the Netherlands incidentally and originates from Afghanistan

This is my favorite thread and Joost is my boy!

    • A study done by the European Tour shows spending less time over the ball produces better shots.  This makes sense. I can see where if you are over the ball a long time you lose the ability to make a more athletic swing. There is also the possibility of just overthinking the shot while over the wall as well and not being in the right headspace.
    • I recently picked up a vintage Ping Hoofer Lite carry bag.  I am not sure how old it is but estimate it is probably from around 2012 or so? I cannot figure out how to adjust the straps! I am going to try to attach a picture of the bag and will also describe it below. I cannot figure out how to adjust the straps in a way that makes the bag comfortable to carry.  The bag also seems to want to be more upright/ vertical than how you would normally carry a bag like this. I have tried to search this site and others on the web but almost all info is on the newer ping Hoofer bags which have quite a different design. The bag is pretty minimal in terms of pockets and has no handle on the top.  It has 2 backpack straps that are not connected to each other.  They are connected to the top of the bag and in the middle of the bag above the primary ball/ gear pocket. Any feedback appreciated, thanks for your help!
