A buddy of mine has a perfect spot in his heated refurbished barn for a simular, high ceiling, very open,plenty of room. He is looking for a simulater that

A) won't break the bank,

B easy to use and set up

C have both range and courses to use.

he is definitely not looking for a trackman or flightscope.

any suggestions out there? again he wants to hit real golf balls into a net or screen when he is bored and have some guys come over on a winter weekend to play Kiawah island or bethpage....that sort of thing.

Depends what "won't break the bank" means. If he's looking for a whole setup under $1,000, he's probably looking at something like the Dancing Dogg Opti Shot simulator...which I've heard isn't all that accurate but is still fun.

From there, the price increases...there are a lot of options, just depends on how serious he wants it to be.

The Internet Adjustment Formula:
IAD = ( [ADD] * .96 + [EPS] * [1/.12] ) / (1.15)

IAD = Internet Adjusted Distance (in yards)
ADD = Actual Driver Distance (in yards)
EPS = E-Penis Size (in inches)

Not sure where you live, but I know here in NY you can rent / lease simulators at pretty reasonable prices.  Unless you're going with something cheap like the OptiShot the problem is keeping the simulator software up to date and calibrated.  This is the one I was looking at;
