He asked me not to quote or tag him and I didn't. I respected his request. I think that was pretty reasonable way to address the points brough up. He should have received no notifications unless he was still subscribed to the thread in which case any post I made with or without reference would have done the same.

The deleted post contained no active links either and there was no specific reason given so I reproduced the post. Now my account has been effectively disabled.

I think I followed the rules of the forum. Sorry if you think I'm being an arsehole, but I don't. If politely defending an opinion that disagrees with mods is not allowed, then disappointing to see. Other than arguing a few points, I think there's a lot of good information here, and I've said so as well.

I don't think I was being an arsehole, but sorry if I was. I thought referencing the post was a reasonable way to respect the request not to quote or tag and still address the points raised. There's no way he should have received any notifications unless he was still subscribed to the thread. To me it appears I am guilty of expressing disagreeing opinions and trying to reasonably defending them. Disappointing only in that I had expected better. (sorry for the triple post but my editing privileges have been changed - effectively disabling the account - and I didn't even see that the previous post attempts had worked) Please post how to unsubscribe as I don't see that option in my profile. Do you just turn off the notifications?

@natureboy : You're dead wrong about your account being modified in any way, shape, or form. 100% wrong. I wanted that outside the spoiler tags, even though it's OT, so that future visitors to this thread don't just see your allegations without a response. The rest of my response is in the spoiler.

He asked me not to quote or tag him and I didn't. I respected his request.

I basically asked that you leave me out of the conversation. You seem to have missed that and taken my request too literally.

Now my account has been effectively disabled.

Absolutely nothing has been done to your account. I cannot be more clear about this: nobody has done anything to your account.

If politely defending an opinion that disagrees with mods is not allowed, then disappointing to see.

To continue to be clear, this is in no way a situation of "disagreeing with mods."

To me it appears I am guilty of expressing disagreeing opinions and trying to reasonably defending them. Disappointing only in that I had expected better.

You are wrong. I simply wanted out of the thread - I plainly stated that it was "your thread" from that point onward. I felt as though my points were falling on deaf ears and I saw little to no value in discussing it further with you (for several reasons). So I said " The thread is all yours now" and then asked that you not respond to me.

(sorry for the triple post but my editing privileges have been changed - effectively disabling the account - and I didn't even see that the previous post attempts had worked)

Again, incorrect. I don't know what you saw, but since your posts were posted as BBCode while your previous posts were rich text, I assume you typed these on a phone or iPad or something and the others on your computer, which may have led you to believe something was different, when again, in fact, nothing has been done at all to you or your account.

I cannot be more clear about this: nobody (no moderator, no admin, etc.) did anything to disable or diminish your account. You have exactly the same standing, status, privileges, etc. that you had this morning, yesterday, and the day before (and likely ever since you achieved "Established" status). The exact same.

The only moderation that's been done in the past few hours is that I (within the past few minutes) deleted your first and second posts and merged any unique content into a single post above.

You owe us an apology for your assumptions that anything was done to your account, but I will not expect one to be coming. You made a mistake; we get that. But perhaps in the future you'll hold off on making such strong allegations since you're basically batting .000 on them, mmmmmkay?

P.S. http://thesandtrap.com/t/78679/toolbar-disappeared - I suspect you were simply posting during a time when the site was having an issue loading the toolbar.

Now, then, the thread is yours to do with as you see fit. I simply ask that you do not involve me in any way. Have at it to your heart's content… just leave me out of it.

Do have to apologize to mods (regarding account issues experienced in this thread ) as subsequent experience points up to a video / memory issue or a DDOS while I was in the editor. The video ads are a little memory intensive, I think.

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
