Sorry, but pocketing the 8-ball on the break is fairly routine for anyone of even modest ability. As a guess, maybe1 in 30 attempts or so. Not in the same league as an ace or a 300 game in bowling.

I'll also offer that of the 2, a 300 game requires tremendous skill, while the ace is much more luck, as evidenced by the number of relatively unskilled golfers that have one, or even more.

I've come about as close to both.  278 is the high game and 6 inches is about the length by which I've missed an ace - more than once.

As to pocketing the 8-ball on the break:

I know it is :offtopic: but you cannot put a video link into a hidden passage.

But then again, what the hell do I know?

I agree with @David in FL . It would take much more skill to achieve a 300 game.

I'm not so sure I'd go so far as to say "tremendous" skill is required for a 300 ... I (practically*) have one of those. :-P

*I say practically because it was in practice ... not a sanctioned league, so it's not official and I don't have a ring.  But at least I have rolled 12 strikes in a row before.  In league, my best is 279, of which I have 2.

Congrats OP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today I took my clubs in to have new grips put on. With the new set of grips I got from my friend and only two bucks a club at GoLow Golf in Las Vegas (indoor driving range) I thought it was a steal. Golf Galaxy charges $3.50 a grip! I'm not the superstitious type, but I couldn't bring myself to change the P-wedge grip that gifted me with the ace just yet. I really don't want to piss the golf gods off. I figured it would be a bad gesture lol
