Best Golf cart heater

I am a Marshal at golf course and in the winter (40 degrees) we have more golfers than one might expect that play in these conditions. I have seen a lot of information about golf cart heater that are used with a plastic cover enclosed golf cart.  Has any one had any personal experience with a particular brand or model.  I purchased one through Amazon that is extremely hard to start but once it is lit does a great job.  I was wondering if anyone had personal experience with such a heater.  Some of the things I read about some models were "it goes out if the cart experiences a jolt or bounce" or as in my case "extremely hard to light".  I would appreciate sharing your personal experiences.

All I can tell you is that I bought my father of propane one for his cart and he said that when he had the plastic cover on, it practically baked him out of it. He never mentioned anything about having any problems with it though.

I use a propane model in my boat.  I use a vynal wrap around cover It's is called a Mr Heater Radiant Propane Heater. I think it's rated at 3500 BTUs, but not sure. It does a great job, and very easy to start. Uses one of those small green cans of propane. I have never used a heater while out golfing since, even in colder weather, I walk most of the time.

One thing to remember is to make sure there is plenty of ventilation, or that the heater is rated for indoor use.

A friend of mine has that heater.   He said it doesn't work well if you don't have an enclosure of some kind because it will go out.     He is looking to replace it with one of these .

I have the Coleman Golfcat catalytic heater.  It does a great job.  No issues with it going out.  It gets pretty toasty when you have it fired up with a cart cover on.

I bought the Coleman this year too - works fine, but somewhat disppointed.  Without a cover, it's nothing more than a big handwarmer.

Yep, you are so correct.  I have a cart at home with a cover and it is really nice playing on chilly days where normally I would not even think about going out.  But, I play in a traveling tournament league and that same cover I have on my cart is the one that I used to use during the league.  It got to be such a pain to put on/take off that I gave up using it and put it on my cart at home when the old one finally came apart.  I have ridden with a guy who brought his heater and no cover and it was good to be able to warm your hands but with the cold wind whipping around when you are moving...pretty worthless.
