Coming over from the UK in February to celebrate my 40th Birthday with 3 friends..

Need opinions on Waldorf Astoria and Falcons Fire..

We have booked 3 of the 5 courses we intend to play as follows, hopeful that Sawgrass will become our 4th choice if we can get on and need help with choosing the 5th..

Shingle Creek - booked

Orange County (Panther lake) - booked

Bella Collina - Booked

Sawgrass - hopeful

We have Waldorf best priced at $165 per person and Falcons Fire at $99 per person.

Is Waldorf worth the extra money????

Any responses would be most welcome or indeed any recommendations for our 5th course..

Many thanks in advance..

I have not played Waldorf, but I have found FF to be a rather bland, mediocre course in just average conditioning.

My recommendation would be to go back to Orange Co. National and play Crooked Cat.  Great fun, challenging layout, and when I was last there in late October, conditions were excellent.

Answered in your PM, but not even close.  Spend the $'s and play Waldorf.  FF is just ok, and conditions can be all over the board there.

Great group of courses.  Agree too, if you want another option, or better yet, play 36 one day and play Crooked Cat when you play Panther Lakes.

Many thanks to you both, We will book Waldorf and possibly do the 36 holes at Orange County... Any tips on how to secure Sawgrass tee times? Desperately want to book now but the web site states 14 days in advance..

I like FF more Than David does but I agree with him the WA is absolutely worth the extra money, it's a truly beautiful course. The course at the Ritz Carlton is also a great course.

my get up and go musta got up and went..
