Looking for any and all recommendations for an indoor putting practice green to utilize during the upcoming winter months. I've seen some at the golf stores but would like to hear from those who use indoor putting practice greens and if your could recommend a style/ brand/ where to buy?

I have had the 4X18 for 3 years, and its awesome. I would highly recomend birdie ball. If it gets dirty just use a leaf blower to clean it up. Don't use a brush.

I see one on the bay that has a most interesting ability to leave a track indicating the path of the ball. I note that on my PPG the ability to come through either open or closed and sidespin the ball exists, while been darned hard to see unless you run the ball down a guide of some sort. That and a slow motion camera setup at the far end with a ball marked in such a way as to indicate your roll tendencies would be very helpful. Many cell phones have this capacity now, but you may wish to illuminate the field of view for better quality and faster image processing or find an appropriate stand for the phone to have the best observation angle.

Go buy some synthetic turf, or carpet remnants,  and build your own. You can make it as big or small as you want it. With a little ingenuity you can even build some breaks into it to practice other than straight putts. Up hill, or down hill putts too. Your only limit is your own imagination.

I am getting ready to build my own to practice on since I live so far away from real greens. It's going to start with an 8' X 8' piece of indoor/out door green synthetic carpet.

The stimp is important. It should be like your most oft played greens. I would guess that the majority if the practice felt out there approximates something like bent grass, as does mine, whereas I play a great deal on burmuda, and can tell that coming up short is from a bad practice regime.
