Hi guys, second post on here. Simple newb question on setting up a practice area at home. I read through a few posts in the archives, so that helped, but have a few specific questions. My yard? umm, small... I was thinking of getting a net like in the link to practice my swinging.. Are those worthwhile when you can't get out on the course? Or should I just getting a mat to practice putting? Or any other nets I should be looking at? Thanks http://www.golfgalaxy.com/sklz-practice-net/ss13sklzprctnet7/product

For the price that seems like a decent piece of equipment.

I made my own using netting I purchased from at a war surplus outlet, and 3/4" electric conduit for the frame work. I used shower curtain hangers to attach the netting to the frame. Cost me about $80, but has lasted for over a decade. I was really over sized it both wide, and high. I hung a towel for the ball to hit, to avoid damaging the netting.

The only problem I see with using a net for longer swings, is the it does not allow the golfer to see the actual ball flight. It's quite possible the golfer practicing with a net, might feel they are hitting good shots. However, once on the course, that good swing, and ball contact might actually be a slice, or hook.

Easily fixed if your neighbors are very understanding........or have good insurance

    • Wow, largest ever 36-hole lead at the Masters. Seems good. I don't really have much to add, but I'm having a great time nursing a cold by watching this tournament.  I doubt Rory fumbles this one, but you never know. As a fan, I hope he can close this out with two rounds to go.  I saw a funny comment somewhere where someone said Bryson should try to 3D print himself a green jacket.
    • Day 234 4-10 Blending hip/chest rotation backswing work and wrist arch in downswing. Pause at the top and slower swing. Recorded and hit foam balls.
    • Day 2, April 10 2026.  After watching today's excellent Masters broadcast, I have hit 18 balls, one at a time, each after doing the pelvis limiting drill.
    • Day 33 (10 Apr 26) - Played in the club Friday shootout with a slight twist as the course was setup for tomorrow’s local “Masters” one day tournament.  The pins were in some slippery places and the greens firm and bouncy.  Overall made for staying the process all the more important especially on the greens.
    • Rory up by six - makes me wonder if the powers that be will adjust Augusta’s moving day setup to be uber tough or uber getable to get a few closer.
