Under Par is offering the deal referenced above - $19.50 per person including cart and free replays. The certificate can be used until May 31st. It seems like an awesome deal, but I've never played the course, so I don't know whether it's worth the drive? Does anyone have any thoughts?

If someone is interested in taking a day off and trying to squeeze in 36 holes over there, let me know!

Here's the problem - I have it in my head that somebody said this course stunk.  But I have no idea who that could have been.  I asked @tristanhilton85 and he said he's played there (and liked it) but that was a long time ago.  I'll ask Andrew and Jason and Pakoh and see if it was one of them.

Because, otherwise, the idea sounds really fun!

How long do you have to buy the coupon?

EDIT:  Their website is "parked" courtesy of godaddy, so that doesn't sound like a very good sign. :bugout:

I've played here before, and I liked it. I think it's a pretty fun course and different from the courses you typically see in southern California. However, the last time that I played there was maybe 2 years ago and at that point it appeared that it was starting to get run down. When we were in the process of planning the So Cal outing that we had at Encinitas Ranch I had looked into possibly going there. All the reviews I saw of it were pretty bad so I avoided it.

That being said, $39 for 2 players for all you can play seems to be a decent price even if it is in crappy condition. If you end up going, let us know how it is.

Agreeing with +tristan. I went to the course a few times in 2008 or so, and a few times after then. When it opened, it was great. I really enjoyed it, and even hit my longest ever drive there. On #18, I was planning to lay up short of a hazard and decided instead to take driver and try to clear it. I flew the hazard I was planning to lay up short of! That having been said... the last 2-3 times I was there it wasn't maintained as well and also played fairly slowly. For the schlep to get there, no thanks.

Yikes - I just checked out some of the reviews and photos on Yelp. The course appears to be in miserable shape.

For $19 it might still be a decent deal if it were local, but at 3 hours round trip drive time, I can't justify it. Thanks all for the feedback.

    • Attempting to lift. Any better?
    • Day 82: mirror work again tonight. Working on the same shoulder down and roll and twist stuff. Going on vacation tomorrow and putting the clubs down, so new streak starts in about 10 days!
    • Day 44, June 17.  Today was some preliminary stretching, exploring what I'll want to set up as a regular routine (both while on vacation without clubs and when I'm back) (aside: this is part of an upcoming goal to stretch daily in a meaningful way, but I don't plan to count it as practice on days that I can meaningfully practice with a club)
    • Having a rough week. Went to the Dr. because I was really weak and could hardly swing my driver.  I take Propranolol 20 mg tablets twice a day. Seems like the Propranolol was driving my pulse down (low 50's).  So we cut the dosage in half and I started taking my blood pressure. It was a little high but pulse came up.   Then yesterday I raised it to 15 mg tab by taking it 3 times a day. Blood pressure 127 / 77 Pulse 75.  Heading out tomorrow morning for 18 holes.    I have my driver set at 10.5* but seem to have my swing speed to low and I can't get the lift on the ball I need.  I have not played this week in hopes I will have the strength to raise my swing speed. I may have to raise my loft to 12* . (I will take my driver wrench) tomorrow. (This Parkinson's is a pain in the butt.)  Will give you a report when I get back.    Retired Old Man, Terry
    • You still got to lift your arms. You basically just roll your wrist over in the 1st half of the backswing.
