I've been Playing Golf for: 10 years

My current handicap index or average score is: 15

My typical ball flight is: Straight

The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Thin with all irons sometimes. Wedges sometimes fat

Any Advice is appreciated

The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Thin and fat iron shots mostly thin though. Not compressing the ball either.

#3 Iron Straight hit but thin.

#Pitching Wedge Straight Good Contact

#5 Iron Pushed Right

#5 Iron Nice Draw

Any help or guidance to improve is appreciated.

You are losing your angles too early in the downswing.

In the image below you will see the white line is where your shaft is. The yellow circle (this is where you want your hands) and line (shaft) is where you want it to be when you reach A6, Club shaft parallel to ground on the downswing.

You want to maintain the angles in your wrist longer. Try this drill.

Welcome to the forum @megs8888 !!  I am no expert or coach, however, I think I know what the pros here would start you off with.  2 things stand out and they're both easy setup issues.

  • From the down-the-line view:  You could stand to have a little more rounded back and your chin a little closer to your chest, such that you are looking straight at the ball, rather than having to look down at it.  Check out the OP of this thread for the details. http://thesandtrap.com/t/56069/good-golf-posture-how-to-address-the-golf-ball/0_30
  • From the face-on view:  You can try to flare your feet out a little more rather than having them point straight at the camera.  The details on this and why its good for you are found here: http://thesandtrap.com/t/78207/why-flaring-your-feet-at-address-makes-golf-easier/0_30

Good luck!!

Sorry I didn't point that out first, I do agree with that as well. The lower part of your back is to curved.

This is a side on of the new swing now feels a lot better and divots are shallow dollar notes and ball flight is a lot more consistent. http://vid1243.photobucket.com/albums/gg541/megs8888/GOLF%20SWING/IMG_0099_zps7dbn7nyv.mp4

Posture still looks a bit "stiff", would also be good to get the hips more forward at address, would add more axis tilt which will also help you shallow things out.

    • Day 87 (27 Jul 25) - Made it an easy session with the wedge this afternoon, worked on staying in the shot and not lifting out - split between low spinners and higher floaters.
    • Shot my new low 72 (par 70) today. Had 5 birdies, also a new best, which included a hole out from the bunker on par 3 6th, and another hole out pitch from 15ish yards on the long par 4, 15th.  Got a couple of other good breaks. Except for an OB drive on 14th (and ensuing double bogey), not much went wrong. All in all I might have used up a year's worth of luck in a single day.
    • Back in the saddle after vacation.  Day 1: played 18. Did not have it, but still battled to an 82. Felt closer to a 90, but that’s fine.
    • Yes, I have seen this from the older crowd that play the 4,700 yard tees and want to know why they get less strokes from there. Always trying to game the system 🤣
    • Day 300 - 2025-07-27 Good 44-ball segment. GSPro was acting goofy, so I just put it on the Quad. Then I hit a bunch of low spinners. Hit 14° down to 9.8° down, with the average closer to 12.3° or so. Focused mostly on the backswing. Right knee good, hands roll up and out a little before laying off (FAR).
