I have been watching it for the last hour and can't believe all the noise and distractions that the players are dealing with.  I've heard dogs barking, chainsaws, traffic (car horns), helicopters and airplanes.  For us non-pro's playing in less the quiet conditions isn't unusual but I can't believe the ladies aren't complaining.  They must be tougher than the guys on the PGA Tour who flip out over a camera click.

I used to live right around the corner from that place ... But didn't play much golf at the time so I never played there.

How right you are! Men on the PGA Tour will complain about anything they hear. If you even take a deep breath, the guy on the tee will step back and give you the look of Satan. Then be ready for the caddie to point you out to the masses. The LPGA goes with the flow. In Virginia, when the ladies play Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, the same thing happens. The course partially winds through a community and noise is not uncommon.

Imagine if the PGA player got upset when they heard you breath just as they were making their stroke. Think they would look at their fellow competitors and say, "Hey that guy took a breath in my downswing. I'm going to hit another one." That's what our men's group does on the weekend! It's mulligan city.

I watched the India Open, Delhi, on TV.  Birds, monkeys, maybe cows, truck/cars/motorbikes, horns, airplanes...you name the sound, there it was, loud and constant.  Still, only one man won the day and he is on his way to Augusta, Mr. A. Lahiri.
