In a few weeks I am having surgery on my left wrist. Ugggggg  My Trapezium bone is hitting my Radius bone AND my Capitate bone is hitting my Lunate bone. This is all caused by Arthritis. The Trapezium bone hurts the worse. I've been dealing with this for the past 3 years and you can see the X-rays show over time it's getting worse.

I've had numerous Cortisone shots that do not last long and tried wearing a brace while playing golf. I've seen multiple orthopedic hand specialists and they all say the same thing. Bone Fusion.

Surgery will only allow me 30% mobility vs. 70% now due to the swelling.

So, on the bright side, this might help my chipping :-) But, I'll need to adjust my full swing due to the lack of flexibility in my wrist.

Has any one had a similar surgical procedure ??? if so, how did it effect your golf game.

I read where Fred Funk had wrist fusion surgery. I've written numerous letters to the PGA & Golf Channel trying to contact Fred to discuss his surgery but, my letters must have fallen in to the circular file.

Any &  All  suggestions are appreciated.

I assume you've google searched  wrist fusion surgery.

That's an odd way to go about gathering information on a medical procedure. Calling Dr. Funk! LOL!!

Yeah, last week my back was a bit sore so I called the PGA Tour's main office and they gave me Tiger Woods's home phone number. Tiger said I should keep playing and it would sort itself out. Hope that helps.

Okay, guys, c'mon.

I'm sure the OP did other things too.

OP was looking to ask how Fred Funk made out with his similar wrist surgery. Not heartless comments from the peanut gallery. Been to multiple hand specialists. Having surgery done by an orthopedic sports hand specialist in Boston. Surgery is May 7th. I'll let you know in a few months how it effects my golf game, if at all.
