On Plane is not a great term in my opinion. There hasn't really been a correct definition of what the right plane is. Is it the space between the elbow and the shoulder to the ball?

Ihaven't thought about swing plane in a long time. I care where clubhead is at, but I just know if it is in a better position at certain times in the swing things go better.

As for the guy demonstrating in the video.

First, the guy needs to take the arch out of his lower back. Not really good posture there. :-D

Second, I think parallel at A2 would matter more if the turn rates are synced well.

Third, at A3 his back leg hasn't extended enough, he's basically maintained all the flex in that back knee.

I like this video. They are appropriately flexible about the positions, and while the guy's swing may not be your ideal, they're answering a specific question ("Where should you be at A2 and A3?") in an understandable way.

I basically agree with most of what they said. The best part is at the end where the guy wants to get into a good A2 and knows he tends to get a little in so he makes a swing where he feels more Rickie Fowler (or old Rickie Fowler). I think most of us have a general idea of where we want to be, the "secret" is knowing HOW to do achieve it and what piece to prioritize. Kind of like the example we use for Key #1, steady head isn't a swing thought.

    • A few thoughts on the past few minutes. I agree that fairways are overrated, but Rory might want to reconsider that view in the short term. For the second time today, Bryson is hitting two shots in a row from the same greenside bunker.   Xander had a similar issue on 12 earlier today, although I think that only happened to him once today.  My mother and I are sitting in my living room commiserating.    Poor Patrick Reed, only bogey of the day on #18.  Shane Lowry had a clean scorecard with 15 pars and 3 birdies.
    • Three great shots from McIlroy's group (Smith and the US Am Champ) on 12.  The amateur won closest to the pin, although I doubt the group had a bet going.
    • I thought complaining about Fleetwood's appearance was my schtick   For real though, I agree with you, and when I see that, especially in a major, I'm confused.  When I play in a multi-day event at my club, I plan my clothing in advance because I want to look my best.   If no one else, their clothing sponsors should do this for them.  I think Nike used to do this with their stable -- I used to look forward to seeing their posts on the Facebook before majors to see how Tiger and Anthony Kim and friends would be dressed. Meanwhile, Jason Day is dressed fairly blandly today.  Who saw that coming?
    • The hell is Thomas Fleetwood wearing? He looks like a divorced dad from 1998. Even the shoes are hideous
    • I was wondering this and haven't seen it on today's broadcast OR yesterday's, but apparently Cabrera did show up.  He currently has the third highest score for the week and is playing his last hole of this year's event.  I'm not particularly keen to see him, but I was wondering if he was present, and he seems to be.
