Ryan Lavner breaks down where all the golfers fell on the list. Who knows how legit the numbers are.

Mickelson, who turns 45 next week and is the oldest active athlete on the list, earned $50.8 million over the past year, with $48 million of that total coming in endorsements. Woods, plagued by injuries over the past year, still earned $50.6 million ($50M in endorsements).

Rory McIlroy was the next golfer on the list, at No. 12. The world No. 1 raked in $48.3 million, with $32 million coming in off-the-course deals.

Also cracking the top 100 were No. 82 Justin Rose ($20.2M), No. 85 Jordan Spieth ($19.8M) and No. 96 Billy Horschel ($19M).

Not surprisingly, boxer Floyd Mayweather topped the list for the second consecutive year. He earned $300 million over the past year, which, according to Forbes, is more than double the previous record, set by Woods ($115M) in 2007-08.

They should be leaving $1000 tips. A $1000 tip given by Phil Mickelson is equivilent to an average Joe that makes $50,000 a year tipping $1. Having said that, Phil tips everybody $100, so it probably works out to over $1000 in tips.

List has changed a bit since last year:

Phil, #8

Jordan, #9

Tiger, still strong at #12

Rory, #17

JDay bringing up the rear at #69.  That'll improve in '17.

And, for the 1st time ever, an MMA fighter makes the top 100.  Connor MacGregor at #85.

I didn't realize that Nike was still ponying up so much in endorsements for Tiger.  Obviously if he comes back it will pay off, but I wouldn't think his name has much influence on purchases of Nike equipment right now.
