[=3][/]with 80 mph swing speed what kind of shaft and driver should I be upgrading too. Have callaway chit with senior shaft flex a tour tech 55w. He seems to be out growing not sure what to try. Lady's flex hits well but would need to take inch or less off but I'm worried that will stiffen up. Also have dri tac Winn grips . Really soft and he likes them a lot . Any reviews on them for juniors

I don't think cutting an inch off the butt end will stiffen the shaft that much. I've done it. It did lighten the swing weight.

Getting a properly fitted driver would be the best way to go . It will probably be a special order depending upon how tall he is. 2014 standard model Callaway Big Bertha drivers can be had for a song right now... new. There are stores that still have some. You'll have to look. It's a very nice forgiving driver and has a very nice shaft in it. He's on the borderline for a Regular shaft.

I tried custom fitting the other day at golf Galaxy and the guy telling me that club length don't matter it's all about can he control club. I told him looks like he can't control because it's too long he needs to choke down . He wasn't willing to cut club down. Maybe need to go to golfsmith

Well, here's the deal. I play with a regular shaft 44.5" 2014 Big Bertha Standard. Mine is a 10.5 degree, and I have it set for +1 degrees. It will go to +2 degrees. For an 80 mph SS +2 degrees will probably be optimal. I originally had trouble getting the 45.5" shaft length square, so I had it cut. I'm 6'.

But you might be able to find a women's 2014 Callaway Big Bertha Standard which would probably be perfect. They come in 44.5" shaft length with a C9 swing weight, and right now will be around $150. They're 13.5 degree loft. Check stores, and Callaway Pre-owned, and e-bay.

That sounds great . Loft seems high he hits 10.5 Callaway xhot but has closed at 9.5. He still gets the ball really high so looking for 9.5 or 10.5 loft at most hopefully can adjust to 8.5 or 9.5 . I'll check Callaway preowned . I stay away from eBay one time bought knock off taylormade not knowing and found out year later it was a fake

Funny reading later been away. Stuck with callaway Xhot replaced shaft men's regular trimmed it and after 6 months in cross fit he is pumping it 250 all day.  13 yrs old might be 90 lbs soaking wet. Lol he will carry it 250

    • Day 5: did a stack session. Did some slow swings between sets, working on hands down.
    • So, I might have to get out of the C-Taper golf shaft. I have an older Mizuno with a KBS Tour shaft in. I was messing around with closing my eyes and feeling where the weight of the club is being felt at. The C-Taper was all in my fingers. I didn't feel much of anything of the club head or shaft of the club. It felt super heavy in my hands. The KBS Tour I could feel a weight further away from my hands, out in space.  The Mizuno weights 2 grams more, but is about 2-3 swing weights lighter than my current irons.  So, yea. I am thinking I might sense the club better with maybe a less stout golf shaft and maybe a lighter swing weight. Probably more to do with the golf shaft. I am thinking the feeling of the weight out in space is more of the shaft loading more easily.
    • Day 25 (2 Apr 26) - Worked on green side chips at the course before helping with the school golf tournament today.  Worked on low flighted spinners to get solid hop and stops.
    • Day 227 4-2 Chest and hip turn with flow drill. Trying to get a rhythm to the hip movement/less segmented feeling.
    • A bit back at it tonight. I just wanted to add in the feel of a softer left arm through out the backswing. This helps me hinge the club. I make sure I am not bending it a ton, but not straightening it. It helps feel like I can keep the club in front of me more and lift the club up sooner.
