I have been having an issue the last few weeks with getting my grip to feel correct when it has been very hot and humid. I usually don't wear gloves. When it gets hot, I wear a rain glove on the left and sometimes even one on the right.

I have moved to a more neutral grip per my Evolvr instructor this year. It was working and feeling fine up until the muggy weather showed up. Now I struggle the get the grip to feel correct.

My routine aims the club face, then I grip with the left hand. Then I lay my right palm over my left thumb and grip with my right ring and middle fingers. I use in interlocking grip. The club always seems to close the face more than normal when I grip without gloves in dry conditions. It is frustrating. I play with a slightly open face. If not, my shots draw too much.

Any suggestions?

Try aiming the clubface and then putting the left hand on while not completely letting go with the right. Keep the aim steady with the right hand trigger finger and thumb, just lift up the back of the palm so the left hand can slip under. If that makes any sense.

It sounds like you might be gripping the club with your right hand too weak (underneath) at set up, so when your wrap it around your left hand and the club, it is forcing the club head closed in able to get to a stronger (on top) or more neutral grip.  My pro/coach helped me with a similar problem by using a yard stick.  Act like it is the club, do the set up with the flat sides representing the side of the normal club grip.  Set left hand first, then bring your right hand straight into the flat right side of the yardstick so the palm rests against it, then wrap around your left hand without the yardstick turning closed.  Do it a few times, then try the same with a club.

I also used to interlock, but now with my right hand being more 'on top'  I use the overlap grip, and it feels much more natural, my little finger is resting on my left hand index finger with the tip at the 2nd joint.

One other question, how old are your grips?  It really is important that they feel tacky so you aren't gripping too tight, which can also force the face closed.

I does make sense. I will try it.

Thanks for the comment. The grips are pretty new. I keep them clean and they have good tack when my hands are dry.

My right hand is not weak when I grip without gloves. I purposely set it on top of my left thumb. That is what I worked on with my instructor over the early spring.

Small point… you have those backward. If the right hand is more underneath that's stronger, not weaker.
