Can a scratch golfer's swing look really bad? If so, how bad can it get?

Jim Furyk's swing  readily comes to mind. I am of the opinion that any swing will work as long a the correct compensation have been made during the down swing, that give the golfer a good impact position into the ball.

Everyone's swing is repeatable, and I doubt their putting and chipping were really that great. To be scratch, you need to hit or be near a lot of greens.

Yes. Everyone's swing is repeatable. I meant their quirky swing makes them look like a high handicapper as it looks odd to me. But they know exactly where the ball is going every time even though it doesn't look the most efficient swing and even painful to watch And the ball is on green and it close. The putting and chipping still has to be very good to score scratch
